Tanti auguri: happy 50th anniversary Tonda. 🎉🥂 In the 1970s, some visionary minds at Hapimag had the idea to turn an abandoned medieval village in the heart of Tuscany into a flourishing holiday resort. 💡 On June 30th, 2024, the Tonda resort celebrated its 50th anniversary. It is a success story of sustainability. Tuscany is often referred to as the pearl of central Italy. It is a trove of unique historical treasures. Like many travellers, Hapimag was fascinated by the Chianti region also. At the beginning of the 1970s, the company decided on a bold yet visionary idea: it envisioned the small medieval village of “Castello di Tonda” with its abandoned ruins and unkempt surroundings to become an inviting, relaxing holiday resort. Tonda stands for “Toscana tipica”, typical Tuscany. In addition, it stands for typical Hapimag: The resort offers everything our guests understand by a genuine Tuscan atmosphere, and it is a story of true growth and how we as a company support local communities. 🤝🌍 On 29 June 1974, Hapimag opened the doors of this gem in the middle of Tuscany to its first guests. 50 years later, at the anniversary celebration Manuel A. Carrasco, Chief Hospitality Officer at Hapimag, and Lorenzo Pumilia, Resort Manager in Tonda, welcomed more than 100 guests and took them on a journey through time. By ensuring value-adding growth Hapimag remains profitable and has the ability to expand its environmental and social responsibility.” To bring that idea to life with our employees we invited them to join a Community Day and partnered with Stiftung zuwebe. The institution has been in existence since 1967, and offers sheltered training, work as well as residential places for people with learning difficulties and psychological impairments in the canton of Zug. zuwebe has the vision of working towards a society in which the integration, equality and participation of people from all walks of life are paramount. At this special occasion our employees had the opportunity to work and spend half a day in the organisation’s garden and lent a hand for a good cause. 🤝🌷🌿 Thank you for the opportunity and valuable insights! Annual report – we look back on a successful 2023! 💚 Over 440,000 guests spent their holidays with us – more than ever before. 👍 At 73.2%, the occupancy rate at our resorts reached its highest level in ten years. 📈 Hapimag is growing and gaining new shareholders for its unique holiday concept. 🌍 Water consumption and almost all energy sources have been reduced by over 5% per overnight stay. Two photovoltaic systems in Bodrum and Interlaken now cover 25% of local electricity consumption.
