Stanford’s University IT (UIT) team is seeking an Oracle Business Intelligence Engineer who will be responsible for development of technical analysis and design, new programming, modifications, scheduling, tuning, testing and maintenance of systems in support of new and existing Business Intelligence (BI) and other projects.

CORE DUTIES:

  • Perform data analysis, design and development on new and ongoing business intelligence (BI) tools (specifically  OBIEE / OAS / OAC / FDI, optionally Tableau) involving complex data structures.
  • Perform data analysis & design involving complex data structures on Informatica.  
  • Provide technical design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, system and technical support for BI initiatives.
  • Conduct and participate in code walkthroughs and document technical design. Assist in Quality Control testing. Troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
  • Consult with client groups to assess user needs and requirements.
  • Meticulously build BI applications following software methodologies defined.
  • Follow the release cycles and implement on-time delivery of bug fixes, change requests and enhancements.
  • Monitor Dashboard Reporting and Presentation Layer functioning and performance and pro-actively fix issues as found.
  • Compare out of the box Oracle cloud ERP reports and make recommendations based on functionality requirements.
  • Extend / enhance Oracle delivered reports based on fit.
  • Support Source upgrades, Hardware/Software upgrade projects with impact analysis, fixes and end-to-end testing. Provide operational support on failures and outages.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and seven years of relevant experience in computer science, or engineering or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid expertise in Business Intelligence and Data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience in  OAC / FDI (FAW) and an additional 3 years on OBI / OAS.
  • Ability to design and develop cross-functional Dashboards by efficiently using BI tool features while pushing down complex logic to the database.
  • Expertise in BI modeling - Physical, logical and semantic layers.
  • Solid expertise in technical development on Oracle Analytics/Answers.
  • Excellent programming skills on databases with advanced SQL.
  • Experience working in a MUDE environment.
  • Ability to identify & tune BI application performance bottlenecks.
  • Knowledge of data load and transformation methods.
  • Analytical capabilities to slice and dice data for display in reports.
  • Ability to understand requirements and translate them into design.
  • Experience with cloud data warehousing solutions, such as Snowflake, AWS RedShift, a plus.
  • Exposure to Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux/Windows OS, Version Control and Office software.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles and coding standards.  
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and project mgmt methodologies.
  • Ability to learn and upskill on newer technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Working experience at a higher education institution(s) a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sitting.
  • Occasionally stand/walk.
  • Rarely writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

The expected pay range for this position is $131,000 – 156,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
