Profile: Our client is the maker of hardware and software in the building automation industry. We are looking for a bilingual VP sales who will be responsible for building a sales strategy and executing on it. You will manage a sales team in both Canada and some US. The person we seek has an experience in building and leading a sales strategy and sales team. You use the carrot rather than the stick in building, investing in and challenging people are the cornerstone to your success.

Territory: Canada & US

Workplace: Work from home (can be local to Montreal or Ottawa)

Products/Services: Hardware and software

Salary: Base $180,000-$200,000

Commissions/Bonus: $100,000-$150,000 in commissions

Car allowance: $7,500 annually

Expense’s reimbursement: All reasonable expenses reimbursed

Functions

  • Understand our products and services and the industry in which we work through contacts with clients and partners
  • Establish a strategy for growth through direct sales, partners and contractors
  • Manage all revenue channels
  • Grow revenue through existing markets
  • Manage team members and establish 1 on 1's, team meetings and drive a culture of success and accountability
  • Establish and monitor key KPIs
  • Work with HR to review and establish variable compensation strategy

Requirements

Development vs Maintenance: 50% vs 50%

Road vs Office: 50% vs 50%

Languages: French and English (fluent bilingualism)

Education: Bachelor's degree of equivalent experience needed

Training: On the job training

Overnight Travel: Overnight travel of up to 25% per month

Years of experience: At least 10-12 years experience with demonstrated success

Other requirements: Thrives in a start-up environment

Transferable contacts: Contacts within the builders/condo contractors industry is a major asset

Transferable Knowledge

  • Consideration will be given to someone who knows the building automation space
  • Experience setting strategy, KPIs within a sales team is necessary
