About the Company:

Our client, a leading company in the Machinery Manufacturing industry based in Vancouver, is seeking a dynamic VP of Sales to elevate the organization to new heights. The VP, Sales role will report directly to the CEO and President and you will have full support from the engineering and operations teams.


This role is open to candidates based in Canada, with monthly travel to Vancouver to engage with the team and oversee key projects. International travel (approx 60 to 80 days during the calendar year) is also required.

Responsibilities:

  • Forging Relations: Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to enhance business opportunities and drive growth.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive, repeatable sales strategy to drive revenue growth, including identifying target markets, customer segments, and pricing strategies.
  • Lead Generation: Lead the business development strategy by driving inbound and outbound lead generation activity, conduct outbound lead generation campaigns.
  • Team Leadership: Build and manage a high-performing sales, business development and marketing team, providing coaching and mentoring to drive individual and team success.
  • Managing Sophisticated Negotiations: Navigate complex negotiations with finesse and diplomacy, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes for all parties involved.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth by establishing sales targets, monitoring performance, and implementing strategies to achieve and exceed those targets.
  • Customer Acquisition: Develop and execute customer acquisition strategies to expand our customer base and increase market share.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and customer preferences to make data-driven decisions.
  • Budget Management: Manage the sales and marketing budget efficiently and effectively to ensure optimal allocation of resources.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Leverage reporting and analytics systems to track sales and marketing performance and provide actionable insights to the leadership team.
  • Trade Show Coordination and Execution: Plan and oversee participation in industry trade shows and events.
  • Managing External Marketing Partners: Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with external marketing agencies or partners to amplify brand visibility, execute integrated marketing campaigns, and maximize market penetration.
  • Presentation Skills: Deliver compelling and persuasive presentations to key stakeholders, effectively articulating the value proposition of our products or services, and inspiring confidence in our brand and offerings.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to quickly absorb technical and scientific information, with the ability to communicate the same information to lay people.


Requirements:

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing high-performance sales strategies, coupled with adept team management skills.
  • Ability to individually drive activity and comfortable being in a hunter capacity.
  • Strong track record of handling complex, high-value deals.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.


Nice to Have (NOT required):

  • Experience working in complex sales cycles with large ticket pricing.
  • Experience working within the manufacturing and machinery industry.
  • Experience in the food industry is a bonus, but not required.
  • Experience working with and overseeing overseas teams.
  • Experience with HubSpot.
  • Being multilingual is advantageous.
