The track-focused Aston Martin Valiant made its dynamic debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed with two-time F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso behind the wheel. Fitted with Multimatic’s patented Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) Dampers, the system increases peak vehicle dynamics capabilities and widens the performance envelope by integrating electronically controlled stepper motors with tried-and-true spool valve technology. We were absolutely thrilled to see our supported teams succeed at this year’s FSAE Electric Michigan competition. Five out of the top ten Design Finalists were running Multimatic spool valve dampers. Three of those teams would go on to sweep the podium, with McGill Formula Electric (MFE) earning first place in the engineering competition.   The Multimatic Vehicle Dynamics Excellence Award was presented to Cal Poly Racing for the second year in a row. The team was built on their success from 2023 and demonstrated an in-depth understanding and application of vehicle dynamics.   It was also a pleasure for our engineering team to share Multimatic’s wide spectrum of capabilities which include engineering, manufacturing, niche vehicle assembly, and motorsports, providing guidance for bright young minds who are interested in pursuing a fulfilling career in the automotive industry.   We look forward to supporting these incredible student programs next month at IMechE Formula Student Silverstone and at Formula Baja SAE Michigan in September. #FormulaSAE #FSAE #Multimatic #Engineering

Congratulations to Proton Competition and Ford Performance for scoring a class podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans! It was incredible to witness the number 88 car achieve the first podium finish for the Ford Mustang GT3 program at the most iconic endurance race in the world.   All three Mustangs crossed the checkered flag after 24 grueling hours of racing, including a 3rd and 4th place finish in the LMGT3 category.   Developed in collaboration with Ford Performance, each Mustang GT3 is built and supported by Multimatic. A total of 15 cars equipped with Multimatic spool valve dampers will line up on the grid this weekend to take on the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The group includes a campaign of three Ford Mustang GT3s from Proton Competition. At Circuit de la Sarthe, the race car generates around 2.5 g of peak cornering and braking g-force, reaching a top speed of over 290 kph. Throughout the race, each Multimatic damper covers a total distance of around 3 km. With a damper travel of approximately 7 cm, that is the equivalent of the damper cycling fully over 21,400 times over the course of 24 hours!
