ConeTec pioneers offshore site characterization to support renewable energy development on the West Coast of North America! We were engaged to conduct a site characterization program for the PacWave South (PWS) Test Site and cable routes off the coast of Oregon, USA. The PacWave project is a collaboration between the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the State of Oregon, Oregon State University (OSU), and local stakeholders. Its goal is to test various wave energy converters (WECs) to determine viable technologies. The site investigation data will be utilized by WEC developers to design anchors with adequate holding capacity for the anticipated PWS sea states. Using a ROSON 100kN submersible seabed CPT, a 10cm² A.P. van den Berg CPT system, and an 80m long chartered vessel, ConeTec performed CPTs to depths of 10.5m below mudline, and cable route CPTs to depths to 3m below mudline. Project completed on time and within budget. Proud to be part of this project. To learn more, click here: https://pacwaveenergy.org/

At ConeTec we recognize that a career in site investigation is not always an easy path. Success in our field demands a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, extensive travel, and technical expertise. Let’s face it: it is a physically and mentally demanding profession. For female and non-male employees, these challenges are compounded by the fact this field remains predominantly a male profession. We intend to change this. We are proud of the many talented women on our team. It is inspiring to see that more and more women are interested in site investigation and up for a challenge they may never have considered before. On this International Women in Engineering Day, we want to give a big shoutout to all the amazing women who have chosen, and continue to choose, to be a part of our team. We acknowledge that working in a male-dominated industry isn't without challenges, and we are grateful for the whole team’s perseverance and contributions towards achieving a more gender balanced industry. We don`t believe in “male” or “female” professions. We believe in supporting anyone who wants to achieve their aspirations and become an expert in their profession of choice. We strive to create a welcoming, respectful, supportive, and accommodating workplace for all. Let’s make this the standard. Are you up for the challenge? #INWED24 #InternationalWomeninEngineeringDay #June23 #ConeTec #WomeninEngineering #GeotechnicalEngineering #Engineers #Career
