Yesterday at #OceanFest, Canada's Ocean Supercluster announced phase 3 of the Ocean Startup Project | Projet Startup Des Océans (OSP)! The OSP invests in, and provides support to, ocean technology startups across Canada. Phase 3 will help deliver improved entrepreneurial programming to more Canadians. By integrating its programming into established ocean innovation hubs across Canada, the project will help expand OSP’s reach to non-traditional and under-represented groups. The second year of #OceanFest at Startupfest was packed. Canada's blue economy is growing with strength across Canada from coast to coast to coast. A key takeaway from the Ocean Smart Nature Showcase was shifting our mindset to investing in Indigenous people and communities. We need to meet the needs of First Nations and build relationships, which takes time but we will get there together. Thank you Bob Chamberlin for sharing with all of us. #Ambition20235

Canada’s Ocean Supercluster Announces $8M Ocean Startup Project – Phase 3 🌊🌐 Today, at the second annual Oceanfest event at Startupfest, OSC alongside project partners announced Phase 3 of the Ocean Startup Project | Projet Startup Des Océans. In 2020, the OSC announced its first innovation ecosystem project called the Ocean Startup Project, bringing together regional incubators and accelerators across Atlantic Canada to work together collectively for the first time to inspire, initiate, and invest in new and early-stage ocean companies. Now pan-Canadian in focus, the Ocean Startup Project has helped more than 155 new ocean ventures become established and just four years after being announced, was named a top accelerator in North America by Startup Genome’s global report on the strongest startup ecosystems in the blue economy for 2023. Led by New Brunswick Innovation Foundation in collaboration with partners including Technopole maritime du Québec; Invest Nova Scotia; Genesis Centre; Prince Edward Island BioAlliance; Springboard Atlantic Inc.; Creative Destruction Lab (Dalhousie University); and COAST (Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technologies) will continue to build on this momentum and help make Canada the best place to start and grow an ocean company. 📰 Read more: https://ow.ly/XQV750SzwB0 _______ Supergrappe des océans du Canada annonce la Phase 3 du Projet Startup des Océans 🌊🌐 À l’occasion du deuxième événement annuel Oceanfest au Startup Fest, SOC a annoncé aujourd’hui la Phase 3 du Projet Startup des Océans aux côtés de partenaires du projet. SOC a annoncé en 2020 son premier projet d’écosystème d’innovation appelé Projet Startup des Océans. Ce projet rassemble des incubateurs et des accélérateurs régionaux de partout au Canada atlantique en vue de collaborer pour la première fois afin d’inspirer, d’initier et d’investir dans de nouvelles entreprises océaniques et des entreprises en phase de démarrage. Maintenant de niveau pancanadien, le Projet Startup des Océans a contribué au lancement de plus de 155 nouvelles entreprises océaniques.
