Nightdive “Deep Dive” Podcast Digs Into ‘Killing Time: Resurrected’ [Video]

With their first episode of Deep Dive focusing on The Thing: Remastered, Nightdive Studio has turned the topic for episode two to their upcoming remaster of the 1995 comedy horror FPS Killing Time with Killing Time: Resurrected.

Hosted by Dimitris “Modern Vintage Gamer” Giannakis with co-hosts Morgan Shaver (Nightdive’s Comms Manager) and Locke Vincent (Nightdive’s Video Producer), episode two of Deep Dive features interviews with Albert Marin Garau (Nightdive artist) and Josh “Slartibarty” Dowel (Nightdive developer), who are working on Killing Time: Resurrected. The group digs into how the visuals for Killing Time (including the FMV sprites) have been upgraded for HD platforms and what kind of restored content fans can expect from the game.

Once described as “the bastard child of Doom and The 7th GuestKilling Time was originally released back in 1995 for the Panasonic 3DO, and subsequently ported to the PC. Killing Time: Resurrected features toggleable high-resolution character artwork/sprites from the original 3DO and PC versions of the game, upscaled environmental texturing, smoother gameplay, as well as improved and expanded control and key-bind settings.

Set in the early 1930s, Killing Time: Resurrected casts players as a former Egyptology student trapped in the estate of wealthy heiress Tess Conway. Ms. Conway’s ritual to bestow eternal life backfires, and her high-society friends vanish without a trace. It’s up to players to find and destroy the mystical Egyptian Water-Clock to undo its curse and face a legion of supernatural horrors.

Killing Time: Resurrected will be coming later this year to PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.

Bloody Roguelike Zombie Survival Game ‘Ed-0: Zombie Uprising’ to Get Physical PS5 Release October 10th [Trailer]

After receiving a digital release last July on Steam, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series, Lancarse and publisher D3 PUBLISHER have announced that a physical version of their zombie survival roguelike action title Ed-0: Zombie Uprising will be coming October 10 to the PlayStation 5, courtesy of Aksys Games. The announcement is accompanied by a rather humourous trailer, which also features plenty of plasma and zombie smashing. Pre-orders are now available via the Aksys Games store.

In case you haven’t heard of the game, Ed-0: Zombie Uprising takes place in an alternate 1854, in a fictional Edo-era Japan. Mysterious ships have made landfall on the island, bringing with them a zombie plague that quickly infects the island. A select few have managed to maintain their humanity through their immunity to the outbreak. It’s up to these three “Zom-beings” to fight back against the plague, and bring peace back to their homeland.

Players can select from either a samurai, sumo wrestler or ninja to take on the hordes. Ed-0: Zombie Uprising includes various undead enemies, ranging from “newly interpreted” Japanese zombies to foreign invaders born after the “Zombie Industrial Revolution.” Players will unlock more as they play (and succeed) with an increasing number of possibilities to customize builds to their liking—with the option to bump up the level of difficulty to test one’s capability.

If you’re content with getting it digitally, Ed-0: Zombie Uprising is currently available with a hefty 75% discount on Steam during the Steam Summer Sale until July 11.
