Here are the coolest horror collectibles unveiled this week!


Stranger Things: The Ultimate Pop-Up Book from Insight Editions

Insight Editions has released Stranger Things: The Ultimate Pop-Up Book, which will cost you $67.50. It’s illustrated by Stranger Things artist Kyle Lambert, while The Babadook book designer Simon Arizpe handled the paper engineering and Matthew Reinhart (Star Wars: A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy) served as creative director.


Happy Birthday to Me Blu-ray from Kino Lorber

Happy Birthday to Me will slash onto Blu-ray on October 18 via Kino Lorber. The 1981 film is presented in high definition with 5.1 Surround & 2.0 Lossless audio.

J. Lee Thompson (Cape Fear) directs from as script by John C.W. Saxton (Class of 1984), Peter Jobin, and Timothy Bond (Friday the 13th: The Series). Melissa Sue Anderson, Glenn Ford, Lawrence Dane, Sharon Acker, Frances Hyland, Tracey E. Bregman, and Lisa Langlois star.

The disc features a new audio commentary by Bond and a new interview with Bregman, along with the theatrical trailer, four TV spots, and two radio spots.


Ghostface Bobblehead from Hot Topic

As you may be aware, the licensing for Scream and Ghostface are separate. As a result, most Ghostface merchandise isn’t explicitly connected to Scream, but that doesn’t prevent clever nods to the franchise.

Case in point: Royal Bobbles’ Ghostface glow-in-the-dark bobblehead features the masked killer atop a movie theater, bringing to mind the opening of Scream 2. Standing 6.5” tall, it’s available exclusively at Hot Topic for $36.90.


Killer Klowns, RoboCop, and Teen Wolf Cups from Fright-Rags

Fright-Rags has expanded its diverse array of horror collectibles to include retro-style souvenir cups from Killer Klowns from Outer Space, RoboCop, and Teen Wolf. Featuring wrap-around designs by Matthew Skiff, each plastic cup has the capacity to hold 32 ounces of your favorite beverage. They’re $7 each.


Audrey Rose Blu-ray from Arrow Video

Audrey Rose will be released on Blu-ray on November 8 via Arrow Video. Featuring new cover art by Christopher Shy, it has been newly restored in 2K from a 4K scan of the original 35mm camera negative with original lossless mono audio.

The 1977 horror drama is directed by Robert Wise (The Haunting, The Sound of Music) and written by Frank De Felitta (The Entity), based on his own 1975 novel. Marsha Mason, Anthony Hopkins, and John Beck star.

It includes a new audio commentary by film critic Jon Towlson, an interview with magician Adam Cardone, a then-and-now filming locations featurette, a booklet with new writing by critics Kimberly Lindbergs and Johnny Mains, and more.

The Boy 4K UHD from Scream Factory

The Boy comes to life on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on September 3 via Scream Factory. The 2016 horror film is presented in 4K from the original elements with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

William Brent Bell (Orphan: First Kill, The Devil Inside) directs from a script by Stacey Menear. Lauren Cohan, Rupert Evans, Jim Norton, Diana Hardcastle, Ben Robson, Jett Klyne, and James Russell star.

Special features include: a new commentary by film critics Julia Cunningham and Emily Higgins; new interviews with Bell, Menear, cinematographer Daniel Pearl, doll designer Todd Masters, and doll handler Tannis Hegan; and the trailer.


Village of the Damned 4K UHD from Scream Factory

Beware the children when Village of the Damned hits 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on September 24 via Scream Factory. The 1995 remake of the 1960 sci-fi/horror classic has been newly transferred in 4K from the 35mm original camera negative with Dolby Vision.

Master of horror John Carpenter directs from a script by David Himmelstein (Bad Company), based on John Wyndham’s 1957 novel The Midwich Cuckoos. Christopher Reeve, Linda Kozlowski, Kirstie Alley, Michael Paré, Mark Hamill, and John Falk star.

Special features include: new commentary by filmmakers Jackson Stewart (Beyond the Gates) and Francis Galluppi (The Last Stop in Yuma County); new interviews with Himmelstein and music historian Daniel Schweiger; It Takes A Village: The Making of Village of the Damned; filming location visit; vintage interviews with cast and crew; and more.


Creature from the Black Lagoon Purse from Vixen

70 years later, Gill-Man remains one of the best creature designs in cinematic history. Vixen has replicated the classic monster’s visage as a purse for its Creature from the Black Lagoon fashion collection.

Designed by Micheline Pitt, the bag is made from pliable PVC rubber with polyester lining. It features an adjustable strap so it can be worn as a crossbody bag with a 21.5″ handle drop or a wrist purse with a 11.75″ handle drop.

Swimming into homes in October, pre-orders are up for $128.


Top 100 Horror Movies Poster from Fangoria

Fangoria has released a scratch-off poster featuring the top 100 horror movies as voted on by the magazine’s readers. Each film is represented by a silver foil design that can be scratched off as you watch it to reveal full-color artwork.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Steelbook 4K UHD from 20th Century

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will reign on Steelbook 4K Ultra HD on August 27 via 20th Century. The fourth installment in the Planet of the Apes reboot series is presented in 4K with HDR and Dolby Atmos audio.

Wes Ball (The Maze Runner) directs from a script by Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds, The Black Dahlia). Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, and William H. Macy star.

The 4K features Inside the Lens: The Raw Cut, a full-length alternative look at the film with a split-screen comparison between the final cut and a version with unfinished VFX.

Other special features include: The Raw Cut commentary by director Ball, editor Dan Zimmerman, and VFX supervisor Erik Winquist; Inside the Forbidden Zone: Making Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes; and 14 deleted & extended scenes with commentary by Ball.
