Without a doubt, Battle Royale has been the trending genre in recent years on the heels of the record-breaking success of Fortnite and, to a lesser extent, its predecessor PUBG Mobile and the game modes included in CoD Mobile. Like what usually happens in the Android ecosystem, it doesn’t take long for any successful formula to be replicated as more and more studios try to cash in on the success before it’s too late. This case is no exception, with an enormous selection of similar games coming out of the woodwork for a long time now. To bring some order to this chaos, we’ve put together a list of the most successful Battle Royale games on mobile devices in 2022.

Apex Legends Mobile

In early 2019, EA and Respawn Entertainment revolutionized the battle royale genre with Apex Legends, a free-to-play battle royale that added new elements to the genre. After several rumors, in 2021, the mobile version of the game was finally released in some territories. In spring 2021, the first betas began in India and the Philippines, but all indications are that by the end of May, we will get our hands on the global version of the game in the rest of the world. Free Fire Max

A new installment of the most downloaded Android video game in the world is something that generates a lot of expectations. Free Fire was in need of an in-depth update, and here it is: better graphics, higher resolution, and various visual effects that you can activate at will. Aside from all that, the game remains the same, so in reality, we could almost call it a remastered version. [Download]

Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier

Not even in our wildest dreams could we have imagined that we’d have a battle royale set in the most iconic installment of the Final Fantasy saga. It’s a prequel set 30 years before Final Fantasy VII Remake, where you’ll play an apprentice soldier on his journey to join the elite warriors of Midgard. A closed beta was released in June 2021, and a worldwide release took place before the end of that year. [Download]

PUBG New State

PUBG Mobile continues to be a worldwide revolution that consistently receives new content with each new season. New State is the saga’s highly anticipated leap forward on mobile devices, which takes you several years into the future to offer a new game map (called Troi) and a host of new weapons and customizations. Following the success of its highly anticipated release, the game has recently partnered with Among Us to generate a crossover that will prove to be memorable. [Download]

Super Mecha Champions

Super Mecha Champions adds one incredibly interesting element to the formula — the possibility to pilot gigantic robots that have fallen from the sky for a limited amount of time. You can make them appear sooner by collecting objects or defeating other enemies. This feature, along with its original anime aesthetic, makes it one of the battle royales that’s best managed to stand the test of time. [Download]

Farlight 84

Another battle royale has been gaining the trust of more and more players over time. Although it has not yet been released globally, Lilith Games hit the key to creating an eye-catching Fortnite-inspired video game that will make you have a great time. As you collect items and weapons throughout the map, you will have to go to energy points to recharge your jetpack. This will make each of the characters you control survive despite the numerous adversities and rivals that will complicate your adventure. [Download]

Rocket Royale

Rocket Royale also draws on the gameplay of Fortnite to take us to an island from which we will have to escape before it’s too late. Something quite striking is that you will be able to emerge victorious in two ways in this game. The genre’s first and most traditional method will challenge you to stay alive until all your opponents are defeated. The second way, much more original, will consist in assembling a rocket that will allow you to fly off into outer space to leave this hostile place behind. [Download]

Cyber Hunter

Originally called Project Battle, and following several limited betas released throughout 2018, we finally have the chance to enjoy the final version of this game. After several regional editions, it finally made the leap to a global version that can be played internationally without any geographic limitations. It has Fortnite-style written all over it, letting you construct defensive buildings. [Download]

Stumble Guys

The best Fall Guys clone for Android may not seem like a regular battle royale to many. However, this video game has a lot of action and survival to lead you relentlessly towards hilarious challenges that will put your skills to the test. Reaching the finish line in the first positions will be essential if you do not want to be part of the group of characters that will be eliminated. The control system of Stumble Guys is so simple that you won’t be able to stop enjoying these addictive levels. [Download]

Knives Out

NetEase knows how to take full advantage of the situations, as seen in the half-dozen titles from the genre that it currently has published. Knives Out is the most similar one to PUBG Mobile, offering the same premise with the bonus of being able to detail customize the hub. [Download]

Battlelands Royale

Not everything is going to be an exact copy. Battlelands Royale uses an isometric perspective and offers a much lighter experience. Its big-headed characters and low-poly graphics almost make you forget that you’re participating in what’s essentially a massacre. After all, these games are basically a bloody survival of the fittest. [Download]

Cyber Space

A world of cyberpunk aesthetics will open up on your Android device to take you into exciting games of twenty minutes duration. Directing the steps of a brave character, equipped with state-of-the-art armor and rifles, in each assault, you will join forces with three teammates to try to survive. A simple control system, the possibility of increasing the size of arms or legs, and the outstanding graphics will make you enjoy every fight. [Download]

Ride Out Heroes

Ride Out Heroes also goes for a hybrid formula inspired by Realm Royale from Hi-Rez Studios. Instead of offering equal conditions, you have different characters with different skills available. This, along with its enticing graphics and a look that’s halfway between steampunk and epic fantasy, makes this game unique. [Download]

Rules of Survival

NetEase also wanted to jump on the bandwagon with Rules of Survival, which ended up being a pioneer by offering battles for 120 players, even more than the original PUBG. Plus, its constant updates have loaded it with additional game modes that make it stand out from other more conservative concepts. [Download]

Creative Destruction

Without a doubt, this is the most widespread Fortnite clone on Android. The entire formula is replicated to the letter, including its updates by seasons, the destruction of elements in the setting to get resources, and the building of ramps and defensive walls. That said, it doesn’t have the same monstrous technical requirements as the title from Epic, which is something. [Download]

Free Fire

We’re only going to say one thing: Free Fire – Battlegrounds is currently the most downloaded Android game on Uptodown, with over 30 million downloads. If that tidbit of information isn’t enough for you, the technical requirements are minuscule, and it can run well on low to mid-range devices. Plus, it’s updated regularly, and it offers a worthwhile game experience. [Download]

PUBG Mobile

Obviously, it was inevitable to mention the official title developed by Bluehole in collaboration with the one and only Tencent. It’s practically the same experience you’d get from playing its version for PC and consoles, including the maps and weapons from the original title. Plus, it doesn’t stop offering new content and collaborations as unexpected as the Zombie mode backed by Capcom and their Resident Evil saga. [Download]

Call of Duty Mobile

Yes, we know that its main gameplay system is far from a battle royale, but its added mode is so played and constantly includes so many updates that we have no choice but to mention it. In addition to the fact that the game area is based on some of the most iconic maps of the saga, the game system based on classes with different skills is constantly receiving new features.
