The Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award has typically been an honor awarded to quarterbacks.

Patrick Mahomes won it twice in his two Super Bowl victories with the Kansas City Chiefs. A quarterback won MVP in four of the San Francisco 49ers' five Super Bowl wins in franchise history.

Mahomes and Brock Purdy enter Sunday's game in Las Vegas with the lowest odds to win the Super Bowl 58 MVP.

The assumption is that if the Chiefs win Mahomes will pick up his third Super Bowl MVP.

A Chiefs win could also mean Travis Kelce turns in a massive performance. Kelce is looking to become the first tight end to become Super Bowl MVP.

A wider net of candidates can be cast from the 49ers offense since Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel are so involved alongside Purdy.

Christian McCaffrey and Travis Kelce are expected to have heavy workloads, as usual, inside their respective offenses.

McCaffrey's props currently sit at 89.5 rushing yards and 33.5 receiving yards.

The San Francisco running back hit the 90-yard mark on the ground in each of San Francisco's two playoff wins over the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions.

McCaffrey had seven receptions against Green Bay, but that had more to do with Deebo Samuel's absence more than anything.

McCaffrey had 10 more receiving yards in the NFC Championship Game than he did in the divisional round. Both times he hit the 30-yard threshold in the passing game.

He may be even more important to the 49ers offense on Sunday if Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk can't break free from L'Jarius Sneed and Trent McDuffie.

The Chiefs cornerbacks performed well throughout the postseason, and if they slow down the 49ers receivers, McCaffrey may be forced to have a heavy involvement, and in turn, become the 49ers' favorite to win MVP.

Kelce's receiving yard prop is set at 70.5 yards, while his receptions prop sits at 6.5.

The Kansas City tight end recorded at least 70 receiving yards in each of his last 12 postseason games, a remarkable streak even for someone of Kelce's importance inside the Chiefs offense.

Mahomes clearly trusts only Kelce and Rashee Rice to be the volume pass-catchers inside the Chiefs offense. Rice's props are set at 6.5 receptions and 68.5 receiving yards.

Kelce had 11 catches in the AFC Championship Game. He had 10 catches in his first Super Bowl appearance, but only six in last year's triumph over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Rice, who is playing in his first Super Bowl, had eight catches for 130 yards in the wild-card round, but since then, he has not made it over 50 receiving yards in two postseason games. He had four catches against the Buffalo Bills and eight receptions versus the Baltimore Ravens.

San Francisco 24, Kansas City 21

Betting against Mahomes in a playoff game is not for the fainthearted.

Mahomes is already a two-time Super Bowl champion and should not be fazed by the moment, while it may take Purdy a few drives to settle in.

San Francisco may lack quarterback experience, but it has the more well-rounded set of offensive talent, led by McCaffrey.

Purdy needs to not overcomplicate things in the pocket and work the ball to McCaffrey, Samuel, Aiyuk and George Kittle to wear down the Kansas City defense.

McCaffrey and Kittle could play massive roles if Samuel and Aiyuk are shut down by Kansas City's corners on most plays.

Mahomes will find a way to score, likely with Kelce, but remember this is a 49ers team that held the Chiefs to 10 points through three quarters in Super Bowl 54.

If San Francisco avoids another fourth-quarter meltdown, it should do enough to slow down Mahomes and overwhelm the Kansas City defense on a few series.
