Hi saw a crankset using 2014-T6 (so it claims) aluminum.

Read that it's somewhere in between a 6061 and 7075 in terms of strength. Saw it is also more brittle than the other both 7075 & 6061. But the thing that caught my was attention was it's corrosion resistance.

Hence I'm curious is it worth to get a chainring made of 2014-T6? I'm more interested in it's durability as I'm not into any competitive riding.

Other than corrosion, do I need to worry about other form of failures?
