    Note this isn't always the case for full-suspension frames. As the suspension moves through it's travel, the length of the "bendy bits" of outer cable can change, so it's often easier to run a full-length outer. They also tend to get used in the mud, so benefit from the extra protection afforded by a full length outer. Commented Oct 30, 2013 at 9:38
