  • 📽️✨ A Special Movie Night with Heidelberg Materials! ✨📽️ In June 2023, the Heidelberg Materials quarry in Monceau-sur-Sambre had the honor of welcoming the film crew of Largo Winch. This stunning location, currently undergoing rehabilitation, served as the backdrop for several scenes of the third installment of this thrilling film saga. Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of attending the premiere of "Largo Winch, the Price of Money" together with our colleagues. It was not only a great opportunity to showcase the world of the quarry but also to enjoy a delightful evening and an exclusive viewing experience. The evening was made even more special with a Q&A session with the film's technical team Versus Production, where we gained insights into the production process and their experiences on our site. We are proud of this successful collaboration and look forward to seeing the film in theaters soon! Check out some beautiful moments from the evening below. 🎬🌟 #HeidelbergMaterials #LargoWinch #FilmPremiere #Collaboration #QuarryInTheSpotlight #Filmmaking

  • Recently, we’ve embarked on an exciting project: the production of Levvel blocks using a cutting-edge blend of Calcined Clay and cRCP (carbonated, Recycled Concrete Paste). This groundbreaking mixture substantially reduces CO₂ emissions from the cement binder. 🏗️ Przemek Spiesz from Heidelberg Materials Benelux developed a new and innovative binder together with our colleagues Jan Skocek and Maciej Zajac from Heidelberg Materials for Proeftuin Pier IJmuiden (Marine test field) Rijkswaterstaat, who are committed to exploring innovative and sustainable alternatives to conventional cement types. 🌱 🌊 These robust blocks will be strategically placed in the challenging marine environment of the Northern Netherlands, where they’ll undergo rigorous testing. Stay tuned for updates as we assess their resilience and performance! 💪 #SustainableConstruction #Innovation #ClimateAction #CircularEconomy

  • Heidelberg Materials Benelux is delighted to have signed the Oslo Declaration during the Belgian Economic Mission led by Princess Astrid! This declaration marks the united commitment of Belgian industrial leaders to advancing CCUS technologies, which are essential on the path to carbon neutrality by 2050. The Oslo Declaration, which aims to create support mechanisms, provide legal certainty, and simplify legislation for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) initiatives, is pivotal for companies like Heidelberg Materials Benelux. At our Antoing plant, we are actively advancing towards this goal with the plan for an innovative hybrid Carbon Capture installation. Once operational, this project is expected to capture approximately 800,000 tons of CO2 annually. This initiative not only aligns with the goals set by the Oslo Declaration but also positions us as a kickstarter of the emerging CO2 value chain. Through projects like Anthemis, our Antoing plant will then contribute significantly to the construction market by offering more than 15 million tons of net zero cement in its first decade of operation. This underscores our commitment to sustainable practices and supports the broader objectives of the Oslo Declaration by demonstrating tangible progress towards reducing carbon emissions in the construction sector.
