Die bankeneigene EPI Company hat diese Woche ihre europäischen Bezahl-Wallet #Wero gelauncht. Glaubt man nun manchen Payment-Nerds, dann ist "Wero" schon vom Start weg fast chancenlos (wobei hier auf Linkedin ja jeder als Payment-Nerd gilt, der schon mal eine Apple Watch beim Halten vor ein Bezahl-Terminal fotografiert und das dann gepostet hat). Und doch: Irgendwie fanden wir es sehr viel spannender, uns zum Launch diese Woche zur Abwechslung mal nicht erklären zu lassen, was denn alles gegen einen Erfolg von „Wero“ spricht – sondern was dafür. Und das tut: EPI-Chefin Martina Weimert im Gespräch mit unserem Podcast-Host Christian Kirchner. Es geht um die Frage, was „Wero“ besser können soll als Paypal, warum „Instant“ ein entscheidender Push werden könnte, wer die Zielkunden des P2P-Angebots sind und warum ihr das, was die EZB gerade mit dem digitalen Euro treibt, offenbar gehörig gegen den Strich geht. #EPI #wero: Computop starts integrating EPI's Wero wallet into its Paygate platform. The concept of Wero avoids mistakes that banks made in the past. (1) For merchants it's important that Wero will provide payment functionalities comparable to cards like authorization, capture, credits and subscriptions. (2) Wero is planned to be an omnichannel payment solution available for ecommerce, mobile and in-store-payments. (3) As banks integrate Wero with their banking apps the user registration should be no problem. Therefore, we expect no henn and egg problem. (4) Wero will be available to consumers and merchants all across Europe which is a potential and international reach sufficient for a successful payment scheme. At Computop we believe in the concept of Wero and we're glad to be a first mover providing our customers with early access to a new payment innovation.
