🌍✨ Celebrating Women Leaders in Engineering ✨👩💼 On International Women in Engineering Day, EFCA proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements and #leadership of women in our industry. Female engineers play a vital role in shaping the future of consulting engineering firms worldwide. At EFCA, we recognise the significant contributions of female engineers who bring diverse perspectives, innovative solutions, and exceptional leadership qualities to our sector. Their expertise in communication, motivation, and talent attraction not only enhances technical excellence but also fosters environments of inclusivity and collaboration. This year's theme, "Engineering Enhances Life," highlights how women's insights and expertise enrich our profession and positively impact society. From pioneering new #technologies to advocating for #sustainable practices, female engineers are driving meaningful change across the globe. As a federation committed to promoting #diversity and equal opportunity, EFCA stands united with our colleagues at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), IABSE - International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering, and FIDIC - International Federation of Consulting Engineers in advocating for a more inclusive engineering profession. Together, we strive to create environments where every individual—regardless of gender, age, or background—can thrive and contribute to building a sustainable future. EFCA also supports the aims of Directive 2022/2381 on #genderbalance, which calls for minimum numbers of women on the Boards of listed companies, aiming to achieve greater gender diversity and equity in corporate governance. Today, we salute all the talented women engineers whose dedication, creativity, and leadership inspire us daily. Your achievements not only advance our industry but also inspire future generations of engineers to pursue their passions fearlessly. “Tackling Water Resilience in Europe – The Practical and the Political.” 📰 We are proud to share a thought-provoking article by our Director General, Sue Arundale, published this month in Building Services Engineering. 🌍 “Water management has traditionally been handled at national, regional, and local levels, but it is clearly a Europe-wide issue that transcends borders. Coordinated solutions at the EU level, under the EU Blue Deal, are essential.” 🌊 The article emphasizes the urgent need for an EU Blue Deal, highlights the pivotal role that consulting engineers play in addressing the continent's water shortages, and discusses how the power of nature can be harnessed to mitigate climate change risk. Read the full article to explore these ideas further and join the conversation on building a resilient water future for Europe. #WaterResilience #Sustainability #Engineering #EUBlueDeal #ConsultingEngineers #Hydropower #WaterManagement
