Join our Finance, Technology & Commercial enabling division that provides group finance, investment & assurance, financial sustainability, PMO & enablement, group technology, commercial and procurement functions to Transport for NSW.  We’re building an authentic organisational culture where everyone feels empowered to make a real difference to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.

Reporting to the Deputy Secretary Finance, Technology & Commercial you will be an integral part of our newly established Division Leadership Team. In this role you will lead the newly formed Group Technology Division, encompassing the information technology and customer technology groups. You will manage and direct group technology, consisting of infrastructure, architecture strategy, integration, systems and operations, including how technology can deliver outcomes and benefit for the organisation and our passengers and customers. You will ensure the reliability and security of critical customer, operational and information systems while shaping Transport’s future technology capability, enabling our customers to make informed travel decisions and travel seamlessly.

You will lead the information and customer technology leadership group of Transport for NSW and its agencies, ensuring technology services are delivered. You will be responsible for developing, delivering and aligning technology strategy across Transport to achieve strategic, operational and customer focused goals. You will plan, manage and maximise returns from technology investments to improve operational efficiency and maintain security and ensure all Transport for NSW staff, passengers and customers have access to safe and secure technology resources.

About You

  • You are a tertiary qualified, experienced senior technology officer looking for an opportunity to build world class information technology and customer systems within an organisation that is subject to high levels of public scrutiny
  • You will have demonstrated experience at a high reliability organisation developing, leading, and driving technology strategy across a diverse, complex organisation.
  • You will have demonstrated experience in setting customer/information strategy and translating this strategy into actionable programs and outcomes.
  • You bring experience leading teams through change and setting team culture.
  • You are an influencer and thought leader in delivering technology advice within the organisation and more broadly with other organisations within the same sector
  • You bring a customer focused technology mindset and experience.
  • You are experienced in creating, delivering and maintaining clear outcomes focused information and customer technology and governance frameworks across a large scale organisation.
  • You will understand the balance of addressing customer requirements whilst adhering to other regulatory, policy, government and operational conditions.
  • You have strong experience reporting to Board or equivalent level.
  • You have the ability to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and types of audiences.
  • You are experienced in building, developing and leading high performing teams.
  • You embrace a delivery mindset as the cluster continues to transform.
