About the Role


The Director, Cyber and Network Operations is required to undertake work that is very complex in nature and operate under broad direction to assist the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to take responsibility for ensuring that cyber security risks are monitored, detected, and mitigated to safeguard the systems in accordance with the Australian Government Security Standards.


The Director Cyber Security Operations will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role that will focus on a collaborative and strategic approach to information and cyber security, constantly seeking innovative and value add solutions for the business, ensuring reliability and security of the Agency’s working environment and the digital health systems operated by the Agency.


The role will be accountable for influencing and developing strategy, policies, priorities, and operational practices in support of agency objectives based on high level decision-making and judgement and will assume responsibility for highly complex or sensitive projects or work programs that have strategic significance.


Skills and Experience


• Possess and apply specialist knowledge, expertise and understanding of the standards which govern the security of government ICT systems as detailed in the Australian Signals Directorate’s Information Security Manual.

• Responsible for ensuring that cyber security risks are detected, monitored and mitigated to safeguard the systems in accordance with the Australian Government Security Standards, developing and implementing Agency information and cyber security plans, policies and procedures.

• Apply and maintain an extensive understanding of the Information Security Manual, providing a high level of strategic advice and support in an Information Technology Security Advisor (ITSA) capacity.

• Manage and assume responsibility of the operation and monitoring of the Agency systems and services through a risk-based approach.


Qualifications


Possess tertiary qualifications in ICT security and ICT management or demonstrate equivalence through professional ICT certifications such as the Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Information Security Manager or similar

Eligibility

• Ability to obtain and maintain national police check.

• Australian Citizenship is a condition of eligibility.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Neg Vet 1 security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required by the Agency.

Salary: This role offers between $138,490 - $163,963 plus 15.4% superannuation depending on skills and experience.
