The Company

Launch is excited to be working on a retained opportunity with a leading Australian brand in the events services space who are embarking on a multi-year journey to transform their core technology stack.

This is a Senior leadership position for an extremely established organisation ready to take the next step in their digital journey.

The Role

The Chief Technology Officer’s role is to provide vision and leadership for the technological direction of the organisation and for developing and implementing information technology initiatives. The CIO directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality and business continuity.

Major Objectives For The Role Include

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives.
  • Lead the transition to a fully functioning ERP system within five years.
  • Oversee the immediate focus on hardware and infrastructure upgrades, transitioning to cloud solutions.
  • Implement best practices in cybersecurity, data recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into non-technical language for business stakeholders.
  • Ensure seamless integration of IT systems across various business units to eliminate order complexities and improve accuracy.

About You

To be successful, you will need comprehensive experience in senior technology management and the following attributes:

  • 10+ years’ experience as a successful senior technology professional with sound knowledge of contemporary IT trends and developing technologies and a hands-on practitioner across all aspects of managing technology in medium to large sized organisations.
  • Thorough understanding of both complex software solutions and hardware initiatives.
  • Core knowledge of cloud integrations and data management practices
  • Ability to lead and mentor an established engineering team
  • Extensive experience in managing digital transformation projects.
  • Strong background in AI, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
  • Experience leading enterprise applications and a software development function would be advantageous.
