🌟 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲: 𝗔 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗶-𝗪𝗲𝗹🌟 We recently spoke with Kellie, one of our dedicated Post-Placement Support Specialists, to gain insights into her role and the impact it has on our participants. Here’s what she had to share: 𝗤: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀?   "To be honest, I did not realize how fulfilling this role would be until I was in it! Now, it is so important to me that I am able to positively impact the lives of our participants by supporting their journey in employment and independence." 𝗤: 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘆-𝘁𝗼-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲? "In my role, I work closely with both employees and employers, providing support and coaching in areas such as time management, travel to and from work, communication in the workplace, building capacity with tasks, identifying barriers, and working to overcome these barriers." 𝗤: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴?   "There are so many memorable experiences, but mostly, I love seeing participants in their work environment and witnessing the positive impact of meaningful employment. Watching friendships form outside of the participants' family and support network and seeing how proud a participant is of being financially independent is incredibly rewarding." 𝗤: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀? "Watching our participants find their independence and knowing they have their place in the workplace is truly inspiring. I love that I am that person they can check in with, trust, share, and celebrate their milestones with. It is a privilege to be a part of their journey." On Friday The Bloomfield Group allowed us to take a behind-the-scenes look and tour of their facility and mine! Bloomfield utilise Mai-Wel Enterprises so this was an amazing experience for our Supported Employees to meet the team as well. Our CEO, John Cleary was recently asked by one of our supported employees to stop in for a morning tea. With the team excited by the state of origin games, a footy themed morning tea was held and John was able to join in on the fun! Our supported employees at Mai-Wel Enterprises explained to John what jobs they were working on in our Business Services area and in our Industry area, John got a glimpse at what it takes to build a pallet.

We were apart of the Maitland Business Chambers 75th anniversary gala celebrations last night, and proud to be there! What a wonderful evening celebrating such an achievement with so many multigenerational organisations there too!

We sadly have to announce that our Gala Ball held on the 6th of July has been CANCELLED. However, we plan to find a new way to host an exciting event in the near future for all who wish to support us! We still have a fundraising goal for our accessible commuter bus – so stay tuned!
