We were honoured to join WorldSkills Australia at the Empowering Skills Excellence event hosted at Australian Parliament House this past week. 🇦🇺 Reece has been a proud sponsor of WorldSkills for many years. We're thrilled to support Sebastian Battista - a talented plumbing apprentice from Victoria - who has been selected as the plumbing #Skillaroo for the WorldSkills International Competition in Lyon, France later this year. A big thank you to WorldSkills, Sebastian and all of the parliamentarians who stopped by to press some pipe with us. We had a lot of fun celebrating #plumbingskills with you and can't wait to see Sebastian on the world stage in a few months.

“Hot water after 10 months without is quite a landmark." In late 2022, #ReeceFoundation and Resilient Lismore partnered together to deliver the ‘Essential Plumbing Project’. Supporting Lismore residents who were displaced or vulnerable due to the record-breaking 2022 Flooding Event in northern NSW, this project aimed to restore essential water and sanitation to a standard that was safe, secure and dignified. Recognising the long-term nature of disaster rebuild, this partnership played to partner strengths and focused on fast-tracking trade and resource power into what can be a slow and delayed rebuild journey, as well as prioritising community-led coordination of how and where such intervention should be directed. As the measurement partner, key findings from our social impact measurement, included: · The project saw greatest shifts in areas also found to be important to wellbeing with access to a safe and hygienic home and bathroom strongly improving. · Project supported broad whole-of-life outcomes, including quality of homes and sanitation, sense of safety, emotional wellness and sense of empowerment. · Access to clean drinking water was a driver for improved wellbeing, and a higher proportion of residents reported access to clean drinking water post-project. · Quality of houses and sanitation were identified as priority needs within baseline measurement, as even eight months on from the flooding event, residents were reporting the conditions of their homes and bathrooms were not hygienic or safe. · The broad diversity of wellbeing drivers reflect the multi-layered and holistic nature of supporting wellbeing in disaster-affected communities. 📖 Read full report here: https://lnkd.in/gVUE4BVQ 18 Months On: With a $5m commitment from the NSW Government to continue the work, Resilient Lismore is delivering the 'Repair to Return' property restoration project across the Northern Rivers into 2025, with teams of Reece Foundation trade volunteers bringing their trade power and big hearts to help make it happen. This partnership established the groundwork for ongoing social impact measurement across a broader scope of Resilient Lismore’s work. After almost 18 months of measurement, the first Resilient Lismore Social Impact Report is set to launch later this year. Stay tuned! #partnershipproject #communityled #disasterrebuild #disasterrecovery #northernrivers #communitywellbeing #allvoicesheard #socialimpactmeasurement #reecefoundation #reecefoundationvolunteers Elly Bird, Ipsita Wright, Ashleigh Sheridan, Natalie Baigent, Simon Vaughan
