We are delighted to share that our suppliers have voted Chemist Warehouse as the #1 Supply Chain in the retail space!   In a recent survey conducted by Advantage Australia, suppliers were asked to rate their retailers in terms of vision, partnership, execution and reputation. Chemist Warehouse excelled in all of these areas, leading us to take out the number 1 spot above Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and Metcash. Chief Operating Officer, Jackie Robb was thrilled to see the team’s hard work and dedication be recognised. “Thank you to our suppliers for your trust and faith in us and thank you to our supplier compliance & governance and supply chain teams – 5 years of transformation is paying off! Onwards and upwards!” Mark Coppola Jackie R. The Chemist Warehouse team recently took part in the PRIDE in Employment Jobs Expo at the Victorian Pride Centre! The expo aims to break down barriers in the job market for LGBTQIA+ communities and showcase businesses who actively champion diversity and inclusion. Talent Acquisition Advisor, Matthew D'Angelo Jones from our People and Culture Team shared his reflections from the day… “The Chemist Warehouse stall was a hit! We crossed paths with a variety of applicants, from young students right through to experienced applicants looking to either change industries or try their hand at something they’d never thought they were suitable for. Being part of The Pride Expo offered us with a unique opportunity to connect with talented individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community and continue fostering an inclusive recruitment strategy that embraces varied perspectives and experiences. The Chemist Warehouse team gained insights into best practices for creating an inclusive work environment, actively demonstrating the company's dedication to supporting LGBTQIA+ employees.”

Congratulations to Chemist Warehouse Intern, Maria Luz Ciancia on being awarded the prestigious Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) Western Australian Intern of the Year! Originally from Arroyito, Argentina, Maria's passion for pharmacy ignited while spending time in her Aunt’s pharmacy as a child. After completing her pharmacy studies in Argentina, Maria travelled to Australia, where she decided to pursue her career. During her internship at Chemist Warehouse Perth, Maria led a mental health campaign focused on supporting individuals with depression. Now a community pharmacist at Chemist Warehouse Perth, Maria is dedicated to building relationships with patients, conducting medication reviews, and promoting the safe and effective use of medicines. Maria is optimistic about the future of pharmacy, particularly in light of the critical role pharmacists played during the COVID-19 pandemic. She anticipates a broader scope of practice for pharmacists, including new opportunities for screening and diagnosis. We are committed to fostering the next generation of healthcare leaders through our comprehensive intern training program and look forward to continuing to support Maria and those alike in their careers at Chemist Warehouse. Congratulations Maria on this remarkable achievement!

Just 2 weeks ago, Chemist Warehouse Ocean Keys opened its doors and Lee Huat began his new venture as Managing Partner of the store! Lee shares his pathway to partnership with us below…   “In 2010, I embarked on my journey with Chemist Warehouse as a second-year pharmacy student at Chemist Warehouse Fountain Gate. During this formative period, I had the privilege of working closely with Bert, the owner of Chemist Warehouse Fountain Gate, and Simon Ting, who would later establish his own stores in South Australia (Chemist Warehouse Seaford Meadows and Moana).   Over the next 14 years I grew from an intern pharmacist to store manager at Chemist Warehouse Fountain Gate. At the close of 2023 an exciting opportunity arose for me to take on the next challenge, so I packed up my family and embarked on a new chapter in Western Australia, transitioning to ownership of the Chemist Warehouse Ocean Keys store.   As I reflect on my journey so far, I am so grateful for the mentors who have shaped me and the lessons learned along the way. I am confident that the journey does not end here; rather, it continues to unfold, presenting new opportunities for growth and learning within the Chemist Warehouse family.”

Chemist Warehouse are proud to have once again supported the amazing work of Bambi Mini Co.’s annual Charity sock campaign raising a whopping $190,617.00 for the The Royal Children's Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal!   After experiencing firsthand the care and support required for her son Rafael at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, BAMBI MINI CO. Founder Nicole Verrocchi knew she wanted to show her support. For the 2nd year running, a limited-edition range of kid’s socks were designed and sold in Chemist Warehouse stores across Victoria, in addition to donations collected at the Chemist Warehouse counters.    Our very own CW Run Club also took part in the Run For The Kids event in March as part of the Run with Raffi + Friends team, helping lift the donations and generate much needed awareness for the cause.   Every dollar raised is another step towards a healthy and happy life for children at the Royal Children’s Hospital, and we look forward to continuing this partnership and doing our bit to help those who need it most.

Chemist Warehouse are proud to be celebrating Thank Your Pharmacist Day today! Thank Your Pharmacist Day is celebrated annually in March, bringing together patients, community leaders and colleagues from across the health sector to acknowledge the vital work of our pharmacists. This year’s theme is “more than ever.” In 2024, Pharmacists are doing more to support the health and wellbeing of Australia than ever before. They are accessible in communities, offering more services, delivering more vaccinations, and making critical medicines more accessible to all. Our pharmacists are critical to the future of our health care systems and today we would like to say Thank You. To every one of our pharmacists across Australia, today we thank you more than ever! #ThankYourPharmacistDay
