About us

At Compass Group Australia we serve a better future by enriching people, communities and the planet. We do this because we believe that everyone should be seen and nourished as a whole person. It’s our responsibility to do good – not just for the communities we work in, but so our people feel good about their work. It’s our people’s dedication that allow us to deliver excellence every day, regardless of whether we are making someone smile as they take their first sip of coffee, putting the finishing touches on a resident’s room to give comforts of home, or supporting local businesses so the surrounding communities thrive. It’s pride we feel when we talk about service.

This week is NAIDOC Week, an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations culture and history. The 2024 NAIDOC Week theme ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud’ celebrates the unyielding spirit of our communities and invites all to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced. Through our collective efforts, we can forge a future where the stories, traditions, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are cherished and celebrated, enriching the fabric of the nation with the oldest living culture in the world. Compass Group Australia values and recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people’s culture and heritage as a proud part of our shared Australian national identity. For over 35 years, we have been on a journey to support and advocate for true reconciliation and we are dedicated to continuing the long legacy of support for First Nations peoples, groups, and businesses. Alongside Indigenous employment pathways, cultural awareness training, joint ventures with small Indigenous business, sponsorships, and business incubation programs, celebrating and commemorating significant days is essential to pay respect to the history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in Australia as well as encourage learning and understanding for all our team members. This year Tastelife is celebrating an amazing achievement of fundraising over $1M for the Leukaemia Foundation throughout our long-standing partnership that dates back to 2009. A staggering 53 Australians will be diagnosed with blood cancer today. Thanks to our onsite World's Greatest Shave community, by means of shave, cut, colour and donations we have helped Australians with blood cancer by giving them lifesaving support. To celebrate this milestone achievement special guests from the Leukaemia Foundation including CEO Chris Tanti, as well as their community fundraising specialist and a blood cancer support worker all attended our office for a meet and greet and short presentation over morning tea. Helping to #ServeABetterFuture for the communities around us, this year, Compass Group Australia are getting behind the Rainbow Shoelace Project, a simple yet impactful project spreading allyship across Australia. The project is the brainchild of Abbie Jane who, with her friend, started giving out Rainbow Shoelace beads in their hometown of Broken Hill. When Abbie Jane was 12 years old and living in Broken Hill regional NSW, she wanted to wear pride-coloured beads on her shoelaces to school, however she was anxious about being bullied and realised that other LGBTQ+ kids might be feeling the same way. What if they saw one of their classmates wearing the same beads? Could this be a small act of allyship that would make each other feel safer and not alone? And so, the Rainbow Shoelace Project was born. This year, we invited our team at CGA to help Abbie out. We packed bead across our sites and offices in Australia that we will then donate back to the Rainbow Shoelace Project to relieve the pressure and cost of keeping the bead packs free for online orders. To find out more about this great initiative, visit: https://lnkd.in/gjVkjFeG #CompassGroupAustralia #PRIDEInCompass #RainbowShoelaceProject
