About us

Under the CHEP brand Brambles helps move more goods to more people, in more places than any other organisation on earth. Its pallets, crates and containers form the invisible backbone of the global supply chain and the world’s biggest brands trust Brambles to help them transport their goods more efficiently, sustainably and safely. As pioneers of the sharing economy, Brambles created one of the world's most sustainable logistics businesses through the share and reuse of its platforms under a model known as ‘pooling’. Brambles primarily serves the fast-moving consumer goods (e.g. dry food, grocery, and health and personal care), fresh produce, beverage, retail and general manufacturing industries. The Group employs more than 12,000 people and owns approximately 360 million pallets, crates and containers through a network of more than 750 service centres. Brambles operates in approximately 60 countries with its largest operations in North America and Western Europe. For further information, please visit brambles.com

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗕𝗘 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴’𝘀 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 We are deeply proud to share the news that Brambles CEO, Graham Chipchase, has been made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the King’s Birthday honours list for services to sustainable business. Recipients of the award are recognised for highly distinguished contributions in their field, or achievement and service to the community at a leading regional or prominent national level. As CEO of Brambles, a pioneer of the circular economy, Graham leads one of the world’s most sustainable companies with impact across global supply chains through its CHEP business. Under his leadership, the company has earned globally recognised sustainability credentials, including being named the second most sustainable corporation in the world by Corporate Knights and as an inaugural recipient of (then) HRH Prince Charles’ Terra Carta Seal. In addition to setting its own industry-leading 2025 sustainability goals, Brambles is focused on bringing regeneration to supply chains through collaborations with customers and partners. Graham has a long history of championing sustainability in business. During his tenure as CEO of Rexam, he led the business to significantly improve its sustainability performance and reduce carbon intensity while lifting safety and operational efficiency. Graham was also a non-executive director of Astra Zeneca through the COVID-19 pandemic. Outside of business, Graham is a mentor to emerging business leaders. Congratulations to Graham on behalf of the Brambles and CHEP teams.

Extreme weather events offer a preview of the significant risks posed by climate change. As a responsible company, Brambles is taking measures to decarbonise our supply chain to reduce these risks, while pursuing adaptation strategies that protect our service centre networks and enhance resilience in our supply chains. Brambles' fourth climate-related disclosure outlines the company's approach to governance, risk management, strategy, metrics, and targets in relation to decarbonisation and physical climate-related risks and opportunities presented by the climate transition. Importantly, we demonstrate how Brambles is leveraging opportunities from our low-carbon circular business model and Climate Positive targets. In addition to our TCFD reporting, Brambles has joined 320 companies and financial institutions to commit to early adoption of the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). This reflects the critical importance of nature – alongside climate - for our global organisation and its growing role in shaping strategic decisions. Brambles will commence incorporating TNFD-aligned disclosures from FY24. Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gn2QyGp9

With the final agreement of #COP28 now reached after intense negotiation, the world has arrived at something approaching consensus on the direction we must take to address the global risk of climate change. While not without its disappointments, there have been many achievements worth noting that emerged from this year’s COP: the early progress on ‘loss and damage’, a goal to triple renewable energy and double energy efficiency by 2030, and the renewed commitment to continue targeting a 1.5 degree future, as the world first agreed to at COP21 in Paris. Most promising of all was the history-making commitment to transition away from fossil fuels, an agreement that will undoubtedly be remembered as the turning point of COP28. This COP has also recognised the unstoppable importance of nature conservation and regeneration in its interconnected role in climate change, but also as a key priority for the future of our planet and societies. Like Brambles, most participants at COP attend with openness to listen and learn, eagerness to find opportunities to collaborate, and determination to contribute in the best way we can. We are under no illusion that any government, business or institution - no matter the size – can individually make a difference in addressing climate change or limiting its impact on the planet. But we are there because we understand the value of COP lies in its ability to galvanise forces across business, industry, NGOs and academia to combine and direct efforts and resources towards our shared climate goals. As a company embedded in global supply chains, we know we have a role to play. Beyond our own ambition to reach net zero by 2040, the emerging focus on nature and biodiversity in tackling climate change means our ambition to bring regeneration to the supply chain grows ever more important.

We are honoured to have been again included in the 2023 Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and ranked #1 in the Commercial Services & Supplies category for the second consecutive year. This year's review showed that Brambles demonstrated strength across all assessment metrics, reaffirming the breadth and depth of our sustainability programme while also highlighting areas for improvement. Bolstered by the inherent circularity of our CHEP pooling network, Brambles’ recognition as an industry leader continues to reflect the value of our sustainability strategy to all stakeholders.
