Yesterday we held our Annual SSI Allianz Scholarship Ceremony.   The SSI Allianz Scholarship was established in 2016 with the aim to help young refugees fund their education and attain local recognition of their existing skills and qualifications.   This year's scholarship ceremony closely follows the release of SSI's Billion Dollar Benefit report, which unpacks how an alarming 44% of permanent migrants in Australia work below their skill level.   Our collaboration with SSI over the years has seen us fund scholarships for 282 individuals from a refugee background and provide permanent jobs within Allianz for 36 skilled migrants. New Allianz research has found that 34% of Aussie Kids are planning to quit sport. As the proud Worldwide Insurance Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we want to help change this, and so we’ve invited local grassroots sports teams to join us at Allianz Stadium next week. The young athletes will experience what it’s like to be cheered on by the nation, but there is a twist – despite the grandstands being empty, when a goal is scored or a race is finished, they’ll hear and feel the roar of 45,000 Australians cheering them on with #GoAustraliaahhh!
