If you’re taking part to IEEE Quantum Week this September, don’t miss the tutorial held by Anette Messinger and Michael Fellner, ParityQC’s Co-Leads of the Co-Design department. Michael and Anette are among the authors of our recent papers focused on universal quantum computing and fault-tolerant quantum computing with the ParityQC Architecture, and Anette recently spoke at the online conference by Quantum Business Network (QBN) focused on quantum error correction. In the tutorial at IEEE Quantum Week, they will give a comprehensive overview of how the Parity Encoding can be used for circuit transpilation and to efficiently implement quantum algorithms on restricted hardware. Attendees will learn how to use various techniques to optimize circuit depth or gate count, and trade off different metrics in circuit optimization against each other. You can find more info about the tutorial here: https://lnkd.in/dYvSc5dg IEEE Quantum Week will take place in Montréal from September 15th to 20th. If you'll be taking part and would like to have a chat with our team members, feel free to get in touch. See you there! #QCE24

The quantum architecture company.
Info
ParityQC is the world’s only quantum architecture company. It was founded in January 2020 by Wolfgang Lechner and Magdalena Hauser, as a spin-off from the University of Innsbruck. We develop blueprints and an operating system for highly scalable quantum computers, with applications ranging from solving optimization problems on NISQ devices to general-purpose, error-corrected quantum computing. The ParityQC Architecture provides unique advantages for all currently available hardware platforms and for both methods (digital and analog). We collaborate with quantum hardware developers worldwide, to jointly build highly scalable quantum computers. We are also part of several joint projects in Europe aimed at the advancement of quantum computing.

A paper by our team - "Constructive Plaquette Compilation for the Parity Architecture" - has been published on IOPscience! The Parity Compilation is one of the pillars of our technology, as it allows to efficiently implement the ParityQC Architecture by laying out a series of local constraints on the qubits. The ingenious layouts of the Parity Compilation allow to overcome some of the most substantial challenges on current quantum devices, where qubit numbers, connectivity and quality of operations are limited. In the newly published paper, the authors Roeland ter Hoeven, Ben Niehoff, Sagar Kale and Wolfgang Lechner present a novel constructive compilation algorithm for the ParityQC Architecture, using plaquettes for arbitrary higher-order optimization problems. The compilation process is streamlined, as the algorithm builds a rectangular layout of plaquettes, where in each layer of the rectangle at least one constraint is added. The core idea is that each constraint can be decomposed into plaquettes with a deterministic procedure, using ancillas. Read the paper here: https://lnkd.in/etp49u59

We're very excited to launch the official website of QSea. The unveiling of the "QSea I" quantum computing demonstrator on May 30th has been a huge milestone in this ongoing project, commissioned by DLR Quantum Computing Initiative and in partnership with eleQtron GmbH and NXP Semiconductors. As the quantum computing demonstrator reaches full operability in the next two months, the “QSea II” project will take center stage. We will develop modular and scalable ion-trap quantum computers, based on a universal quantum computing architecture, which will have the potential to scale up to thousands of qubits. To learn more about the project (and watch the very cool unveiling video from May 30th!) check out the website: q-sea.de

We're delighted to welcome two fantastic new colleagues to our team! Julian Farnsteiner studied Physics and Mathematics in Hamburg, where he earned his PhD researching topological quantum field theories. After having made first contact with quantum computing - a real-world application of this topic - his interest quickly grew. He is now excited to join the Compiler team here at ParityQC, where he will bring together his theoretical knowledge and practical programming skills. Max Cykiert also has a background in both Mathematics and Physics: he obtained a Ph.D. at the University of Surrey with a thesis focused on robust quantum control. He has a keen interest in the improvement of performances of current quantum computers, and with that he is most excited to join the team in our Hamburg office focusing on quantum hardware.
