Regarding Fermat's last theorem, I merely stated the observation that "Fermat's theorem was called such long before it was proven rigorously mathematically" and I did not intend on claiming that was solely due to misnaming y mathematicians whose opinions are varied . Aug 7, 2021 at 23:41 comment added uhoh But I think that Fermat's last theorem may have been called that because Fermat suggested it was proved, rather than because mathematicians decided to start referring to conjectures as theorems.
