There is plenty of evidence that the Deccan Traps are related to Chicxulub: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deccan_Traps#Chicxulub_crater. Geologic activity antipodal to asteroid impacts is a known phenomena perhaps best characterized by the mountain range opposite from the Caloris Basin on Mercury. $\endgroup$
