What you will need to do is to go into the control panelControl Panel section of windowsWindows 8, navigate to power options and disable the quick start up option so that when you "shut down"shut down, you will actually have shut down your system and as a result the files on the partition can nowwill be able to be accessed and edited. no coding needed .
