We present MoE-DiffIR, an innovative universal compressed image restoration (CIR) method with task-customized diffusion priors. This intends to handle two pivotal challenges in the existing CIR methods: (i) lacking adaptability and universality for different image codecs, e.g., JPEG and WebP; (ii) poor texture generation capability, particularly at low bitrates. Specifically, our MoE-DiffIR develops the powerful mixture-of-experts (MoE) prompt module, where some basic prompts cooperate to excavate the task-customized diffusion priors from Stable Diffusion (SD) for each compression task. Moreover, the degradation-aware routing mechanism is proposed to enable the flexible assignment of basic prompts. To activate and reuse the cross-modality generation prior of SD, we design the visual-to-text adapter for MoE-DiffIR, which aims to adapt the embedding of low-quality images from the visual domain to the textual domain as the textual guidance for SD, enabling more consistent and reasonable texture generation. We also construct one comprehensive benchmark dataset for universal CIR, covering 21 types of degradations from 7 popular traditional and learned codecs. Extensive experiments on universal CIR have demonstrated the excellent robustness and texture restoration capability of our proposed MoE-DiffIR. The project can be found at https://renyulin-f.github.io/MoE-DiffIR.github.io/.

Multimodal emotion recognition systems rely heavily on the full availability of modalities, suffering significant performance declines when modal data is incomplete. To tackle this issue, we present the Cross-Modal Alignment, Reconstruction, and Refinement (CM-ARR) framework, an innovative approach that sequentially engages in cross-modal alignment, reconstruction, and refinement phases to handle missing modalities and enhance emotion recognition. This framework utilizes unsupervised distribution-based contrastive learning to align heterogeneous modal distributions, reducing discrepancies and modeling semantic uncertainty effectively. The reconstruction phase applies normalizing flow models to transform these aligned distributions and recover missing modalities. The refinement phase employs supervised point-based contrastive learning to disrupt semantic correlations and accentuate emotional traits, thereby enriching the affective content of the reconstructed representations. Extensive experiments on the IEMOCAP and MSP-IMPROV datasets confirm the superior performance of CM-ARR under conditions of both missing and complete modalities. Notably, averaged across six scenarios of missing modalities, CM-ARR achieves absolute improvements of 2.11% in WAR and 2.12% in UAR on the IEMOCAP dataset, and 1.71% and 1.96% in WAR and UAR, respectively, on the MSP-IMPROV dataset.

In the next generation wireless communication system, transmission rates should continue to rise to support emerging scenarios, e.g., the immersive communications. From the perspective of communication system evolution, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology remains pivotal for enhancing transmission rates. However, current MIMO systems rely on inserting pilot signals to achieve accurate channel estimation. As the increase of transmit stream, the pilots consume a significant portion of transmission resources, severely reducing the spectral efficiency. In this correspondence, we propose a belief information based mechanism. By introducing a plug-and-play belief information module, existing single-antenna channel estimation networks could be seamlessly adapted to multi-antenna channel estimation and fully exploit the spatial correlation among multiple antennas. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can either improve 1 ~ 2 dB channel estimation performance or reduce 1/3 ~ 1/2 pilot overhead, particularly in bad channel conditions.

Privacy-preserving voice protection approaches primarily suppress privacy-related information derived from paralinguistic attributes while preserving the linguistic content. Existing solutions focus on single-speaker scenarios. However, they lack practicality for real-world applications, i.e., multi-speaker scenarios. In this paper, we present an initial attempt to provide a multi-speaker anonymization benchmark by defining the task and evaluation protocol, proposing benchmarking solutions, and discussing the privacy leakage of overlapping conversations. Specifically, ideal multi-speaker anonymization should preserve the number of speakers and the turn-taking structure of the conversation, ensuring accurate context conveyance while maintaining privacy. To achieve that, a cascaded system uses speaker diarization to aggregate the speech of each speaker and speaker anonymization to conceal speaker privacy and preserve speech content. Additionally, we propose two conversation-level speaker vector anonymization methods to improve the utility further. Both methods aim to make the original and corresponding pseudo-speaker identities of each speaker unlinkable while preserving or even improving the distinguishability among pseudo-speakers in a conversation. The first method minimizes the differential similarity across speaker pairs in the original and anonymized conversations to maintain original speaker relationships in the anonymized version. The other method minimizes the aggregated similarity across anonymized speakers to achieve better differentiation between speakers. Experiments conducted on both non-overlap simulated and real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the multi-speaker anonymization system with the proposed speaker anonymizers. Additionally, we analyzed overlapping speech regarding privacy leakage and provide potential solutions.

First, we develop a node-wise decoupling method to de-compose an OEF problem into multiple OEF subproblems. Then, we propose a hidden convexity-based method to equivalently reformulate nonconvex OEF subproblems as semi-definite programs. This method differs from any ap-proximation and convexification methods that may incur infeasible solutions. Since all OEF subproblems are origi-nally convex or equivalently convexified, we adopt an ADMM to solve the hidden convexity-based distributed OEF problem with convergence analysis. Speaker adaptation, which involves cloning voices from unseen speakers in the Text-to-Speech task, has garnered significant interest due to its numerous applications in multi-media fields. Despite recent advancements, existing methods often struggle with inadequate speaker representation accuracy and overfitting, particularly in limited reference speeches scenarios. To address these challenges, we propose an Agile Speaker Representation Reinforcement Learning strategy to enhance speaker similarity in speaker adaptation tasks. ASRRL is the first work to apply reinforcement learning to improve the modeling accuracy of speaker embeddings in speaker adaptation, addressing the challenge of decoupling voice content and timbre. Our approach introduces two action strategies tailored to different reference speeches scenarios. In the single-sentence scenario, a knowledge-oriented optimal routine searching RL method is employed to expedite the exploration and retrieval of refinement information on the fringe of speaker representations. In the few-sentence scenario, we utilize a dynamic RL method to adaptively fuse reference speeches, enhancing the robustness and accuracy of speaker modeling. To achieve optimal results in the target domain, a multi-scale fusion scoring mechanism based reward model that evaluates speaker similarity, speech quality, and intelligibility across three dimensions is proposed, ensuring that improvements in speaker similarity do not compromise speech quality or intelligibility. The experimental results on the LibriTTS and VCTK datasets within mainstream TTS frameworks demonstrate the extensibility and generalization capabilities of the proposed ASRRL method. The results indicate that the ASRRL method significantly outperforms traditional fine-tuning approaches, achieving higher speaker similarity and better overall speech quality with limited reference speeches.

In this paper, we investigate a special class of quadratic-constrained quadratic programming (QCQP) with semi-definite constraints. Traditionally, since such a problem is non-convex and N-hard, the neural network (NN) is regarded as a promising method to obtain a high-performing solution. However, due to the inherent prediction error, it is challenging to ensure all solution output by the NN is feasible. Although some existing methods propose some naive methods, they only focus on reducing the constraint violation probability, where not all solutions are feasibly guaranteed. To deal with the above challenge, in this paper a computing efficient and reliable projection is proposed, where all solution output by the NN are ensured to be feasible. Moreover, unsupervised learning is used, so the NN can be trained effectively and efficiently without labels. Theoretically, the solution of the NN after projection is proven to be feasible, and we also prove the projection method can enhance the convergence performance and speed of the NN. To evaluate our proposed method, the quality of service (QoS)-contained beamforming scenario is studied, where the simulation results show the proposed method can achieve high-performance which is competitive with the lower bound.

Adversarial learning helps generative models translate MRI from source to target sequence when lacking paired samples. However, implementing MRI synthesis with adversarial learning in clinical settings is challenging due to training instability and mode collapse. To address this issue, we leverage intermediate sequences to estimate the common latent space among multi-sequence MRI, enabling the reconstruction of distinct sequences from the common latent space. We propose a generative model that compresses discrete representations of each sequence to estimate the Gaussian distribution of vector-quantized common (VQC) latent space between multiple sequences. Moreover, we improve the latent space consistency with contrastive learning and increase model stability by domain augmentation. Experiments using BraTS2021 dataset show that our non-adversarial model outperforms other GAN-based methods, and VQC latent space aids our model to achieve (1) anti-interference ability, which can eliminate the effects of noise, bias fields, and artifacts, and (2) solid semantic representation ability, with the potential of one-shot segmentation. In the digital era, data has become a pivotal asset, advancing technologies such as autonomous driving. Despite this, data trading faces challenges like the absence of robust pricing methods and the lack of trustworthy trading mechanisms. To address these challenges, we introduce a traffic-oriented data trading platform named Data on The Move (DTM), integrating traffic simulation, data trading, and Artificial Intelligent (AI) agents. The DTM platform supports evident-based data value evaluation and AI-based trading mechanisms. Leveraging the common sense capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) to assess traffic state and data value, DTM can determine reasonable traffic data pricing through multi-round interaction and simulations. Moreover, DTM provides a pricing method validation by simulating traffic systems, multi-agent interactions, and the heterogeneity and irrational behaviors of individuals in the trading market. Within the DTM platform, entities such as connected vehicles and traffic light controllers could engage in information collecting, data pricing, trading, and decision-making. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed AI agent-based pricing approach enhances data trading by offering rational prices, as evidenced by the observed improvement in traffic efficiency. This underscores the effectiveness and practical value of DTM, offering new perspectives for the evolution of data markets and smart cities. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study employing LLMs in data pricing and a pioneering data trading practice in the field of intelligent vehicles and smart cities.

While current research primarily emphasizes contextual modeling, there exists a dearth of investigation into effective multimodal fusion methods. We propose a novel framework called AIMDiT to solve the problem of multimodal fusion of deep features. Specifically, we design a Modality Augmentation Network which performs rich representation learning through dimension transformation of different modalities and parameter-efficient inception block. On the other hand, the Modality Interaction Network performs interaction fusion of extracted inter-modal features and intra-modal features. Predicting the minimum operating voltage ($V_{min}$) of chips is one of the important techniques for improving the manufacturing testing flow, as well as ensuring the long-term reliability and safety of in-field systems. Current $V_{min}$ prediction methods often provide only point estimates, necessitating additional techniques for constructing prediction confidence intervals to cover uncertainties caused by different sources of variations. While some existing techniques offer region predictions, but they rely on certain distributional assumptions and/or provide no coverage guarantees. In response to these limitations, we propose a novel distribution-free $V_{min}$ interval estimation methodology possessing a theoretical guarantee of coverage. Our approach leverages conformalized quantile regression and on-chip monitors to generate reliable prediction intervals. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method on an industrial 5nm automotive chip dataset. Moreover, we show that the use of on-chip monitors can reduce the interval length significantly for $V_{min}$ prediction.

This paper introduces Embarrassingly Easy Text-to-Speech (E2 TTS), a fully non-autoregressive zero-shot text-to-speech system that offers human-level naturalness and state-of-the-art speaker similarity and intelligibility. In the E2 TTS framework, the text input is converted into a character sequence with filler tokens. The flow-matching-based mel spectrogram generator is then trained based on the audio infilling task. Unlike many previous works, it does not require additional components (e.g., duration model, grapheme-to-phoneme) or complex techniques (e.g., monotonic alignment search). Despite its simplicity, E2 TTS achieves state-of-the-art zero-shot TTS capabilities that are comparable to or surpass previous works, including Voicebox and NaturalSpeech 3. The simplicity of E2 TTS also allows for flexibility in the input representation. We propose several variants of E2 TTS to improve usability during inference. Current medical image classification efforts mainly aim for higher average performance, often neglecting the balance between different classes. This can lead to significant differences in recognition accuracy between classes and obvious recognition weaknesses. Without the support of massive data, deep learning faces challenges in fine-grained classification of fatty liver. In this paper, we propose an innovative deep learning framework that combines feature decoupling and adaptive adversarial training. Firstly, we employ two iteratively compressed decouplers to supervised decouple common features and specific features related to fatty liver in abdominal ultrasound images. Subsequently, the decoupled features are concatenated with the original image after transforming the color space and are fed into the classifier. During adversarial training, we adaptively adjust the perturbation and balance the adversarial strength by the accuracy of each class. The model will eliminate recognition weaknesses by correctly classifying adversarial samples, thus improving recognition robustness. Finally, the accuracy of our method improved by 4.16%, achieving 82.95%. As demonstrated by extensive experiments, our method is a generalized learning framework that can be directly used to eliminate the recognition weaknesses of any classifier while improving its average performance. Clean-label indiscriminate poisoning attacks add invisible perturbations to correctly labeled training images, thus dramatically reducing the generalization capability of the victim models. Recently, some defense mechanisms have been proposed such as adversarial training, image transformation techniques, and image purification. However, these schemes are either susceptible to adaptive attacks, built on unrealistic assumptions, or only effective against specific poison types, limiting their universal applicability. In this research, we propose a more universally effective, practical, and robust defense scheme called ECLIPSE. We first investigate the impact of Gaussian noise on the poisons and theoretically prove that any kind of poison will be largely assimilated when imposing sufficient random noise. In light of this, we assume the victim has access to an extremely limited number of clean images (a more practical scene) and subsequently enlarge this sparse set for training a denoising probabilistic model (a universal denoising tool). We then begin by introducing Gaussian noise to absorb the poisons and then apply the model for denoising, resulting in a roughly purified dataset. Finally, to address the trade-off of the inconsistency in the assimilation sensitivity of different poisons by Gaussian noise, we propose a lightweight corruption compensation module to effectively eliminate residual poisons, providing a more universal defense approach. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our defense approach outperforms 10 state-of-the-art defenses. We also propose an adaptive attack against ECLIPSE and verify the robustness of our defense scheme. Our code is available at https://github.com/CGCL-codes/ECLIPSE.

Brain transcriptomics provides insights into the molecular mechanisms by which the brain coordinates its functions and processes. However, existing multimodal methods for predicting Alzheimer's disease (AD) primarily rely on imaging and sometimes genetic data, often neglecting the transcriptomic basis of brain. Furthermore, while striving to integrate complementary information between modalities, most studies overlook the informativeness disparities between modalities. Here, we propose TMM, a trusted multiview multimodal graph attention framework for AD diagnosis, using extensive brain-wide transcriptomics and imaging data. First, we construct view-specific brain regional co-function networks (RRIs) from transcriptomics and multimodal radiomics data to incorporate interaction information from both biomolecular and imaging perspectives. Next, we apply graph attention (GAT) processing to each RRI network to produce graph embeddings and employ cross-modal attention to fuse transcriptomics-derived embedding with each imagingderived embedding. Finally, a novel true-false-harmonized class probability (TFCP) strategy is designed to assess and adaptively adjust the prediction confidence of each modality for AD diagnosis. We evaluate TMM using the AHBA database with brain-wide transcriptomics data and the ADNI database with three imaging modalities (AV45-PET, FDG-PET, and VBM-MRI). The results demonstrate the superiority of our method in identifying AD, EMCI, and LMCI compared to state-of-the-arts. Code and data are available at https://github.com/Yaolab-fantastic/TMM.

Multi-modal learning plays a crucial role in cancer diagnosis and prognosis. Current deep learning based multi-modal approaches are often limited by their abilities to model the complex correlations between genomics and histology data, addressing the intrinsic complexity of tumour ecosystem where both tumour and microenvironment contribute to malignancy. We propose a biologically interpretative and robust multi-modal learning framework to efficiently integrate histology images and genomics by decomposing the feature subspace of histology images and genomics, reflecting distinct tumour and microenvironment features. To enhance cross-modal interactions, we design a knowledge-driven subspace fusion scheme, consisting of a cross-modal deformable attention module and a gene-guided consistency strategy. Additionally, in pursuit of dynamically optimizing the subspace knowledge, we further propose a novel gradient coordination learning strategy. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, outperforming state-of-the-art techniques in three downstream tasks of glioma diagnosis, tumour grading, and survival analysis. The development of Digital Twins (DTs) represents a transformative advance for simulating and optimizing complex systems in a controlled digital space. Despite their potential, the challenge of constructing DTs that accurately replicate and predict the dynamics of real-world systems remains substantial. This paper introduces an intelligent framework for the construction and evaluation of DTs, specifically designed to enhance the accuracy and utility of DTs in testing algorithmic performance. We propose a novel construction methodology that integrates deep learning-based policy gradient techniques to dynamically tune the DT parameters, ensuring high fidelity in the digital replication of physical systems. Moreover, the Mean STate Error (MSTE) is proposed as a robust metric for evaluating the performance of algorithms within these digital space. The efficacy of our framework is demonstrated through extensive simulations that show our DT not only accurately mirrors the physical reality but also provides a reliable platform for algorithm evaluation. This work lays a foundation for future research into DT technologies, highlighting pathways for both theoretical enhancements and practical implementations in various industries.

Fusing outputs from automatic speaker verification (ASV) and spoofing countermeasure (CM) is expected to make an integrated system robust to zero-effort imposters and synthesized spoofing attacks. Many score-level fusion methods have been proposed, but many remain heuristic. This paper revisits score-level fusion using tools from decision theory and presents three main findings. First, fusion by summing the ASV and CM scores can be interpreted on the basis of compositional data analysis, and score calibration before fusion is essential. Second, the interpretation leads to an improved fusion method that linearly combines the log-likelihood ratios of ASV and CM. However, as the third finding reveals, this linear combination is inferior to a non-linear one in making optimal decisions. The outcomes of these findings, namely, the score calibration before fusion, improved linear fusion, and better non-linear fusion, were found to be effective on the SASV challenge database.

Foley audio, critical for enhancing the immersive experience in multimedia content, faces significant challenges in the AI-generated content (AIGC) landscape. Despite advancements in AIGC technologies for text and image generation, the foley audio dubbing remains rudimentary due to difficulties in cross-modal scene matching and content correlation. Current text-to-audio technology, which relies on detailed and acoustically relevant textual descriptions, falls short in practical video dubbing applications. Existing datasets like AudioSet, AudioCaps, Clotho, Sound-of-Story, and WavCaps do not fully meet the requirements for real-world foley audio dubbing task. To address this, we introduce the Multi-modal Image and Narrative Text Dubbing Dataset (MINT), designed to enhance mainstream dubbing tasks such as literary story audiobooks dubbing, image/silent video dubbing. Besides, to address the limitations of existing TTA technology in understanding and planning complex prompts, a Foley Audio Content Planning, Generation, and Alignment (CPGA) framework is proposed, which includes a content planning module leveraging large language models for complex multi-modal prompts comprehension. Additionally, the training process is optimized using Proximal Policy Optimization based reinforcement learning, significantly improving the alignment and auditory realism of generated foley audio. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach significantly advances the field of foley audio dubbing, providing robust solutions for the challenges of multi-modal dubbing. Even when utilizing the relatively lightweight GPT-2 model, our framework outperforms open-source multimodal large models such as LLaVA, DeepSeek-VL, and Moondream2. The dataset is available at https://github.com/borisfrb/MINT .

Blind-audio-source-separation (BASS) techniques, particularly those with low latency, play an important role in a wide range of real-time systems, e.g., hearing aids, in-car hand-free voice communication, real-time human-machine interaction, etc. Most existing BASS algorithms are deduced to run on batch mode, and therefore large latency is unavoidable. Recently, some online algorithms were developed, which achieve separation on a frame-by-frame basis in the short-time-Fourier-transform (STFT) domain and the latency is significantly reduced as compared to those batch methods. However, the latency with these algorithms may still be too long for many real-time systems to bear. To further reduce latency while achieving good separation performance, we propose in this work to integrate a weighted prediction error (WPE) module into a non-causal sample-truncating-based independent vector analysis (NST-IVA). The resulting algorithm can maintain the algorithmic delay as NST-IVA if the delay with WPE is appropriately controlled while achieving significantly better performance, which is validated by simulations.

In this work, we consider a backscatter communication system wherein multiple asynchronous sources (tags) exploit the reverberation generated by a nearby radar transmitter as an ambient carrier to deliver a message to a common destination (reader) through a number of available subchannels. We propose a new encoding strategy wherein each tag transmits both pilot and data symbols on each subchannel and repeats some of the data symbols on multiple subchannels. We then exploit this signal structure to derive two semi-blind iterative algorithms for joint estimation of the data symbols and the subchannel responses that are also able to handle some missing measurements. The proposed encoding/decoding strategies are scalable with the number of tags and their payload and can achieve different tradeoffs in terms of transmission and error rates. Some numerical examples are provided to illustrate the merits of the proposed solutions.

Since the secrecy rate (SR) performance improvement obtained by secure directional modulation (DM) network is limited, an active intelligent reflective surface (IRS)-assisted DM network is considered to attain a high SR. To address the SR maximization problem, a novel method based on Lagrangian dual transform and closed-form fractional programming algorithm (LDT-CFFP) is proposed, where the solutions to base station (BS) beamforming vectors and IRS reflection coefficient matrix are achieved. However, the computational complexity of LDT-CFFP method is high . To reduce its complexity, a blocked IRS-assisted DM network is designed. To meet the requirements of the network performance, a power allocation (PA) strategy is proposed and adopted in the system. Specifically, the system power between BS and IRS, as well as the transmission power for confidential messages (CM) and artificial noise (AN) from the BS, are allocated separately. Then we put forward null-space projection (NSP) method, maximum-ratio-reflecting (MRR) algorithm and PA strategy (NSP-MRR-PA) to solve the SR maximization problem. The CF solutions to BS beamforming vectors and IRS reflection coefficient matrix are respectively attained via NSP and MRR algorithms. For the PA factors, we take advantage of exhaustive search (ES) algorithm, particle swarm optimization (PSO) and simulated annealing (SA) algorithm to search for the solutions. From simulation results, it is verified that the LDT-CFFP method derives a higher SR gain over NSP-MRR-PA method. For NSP-MRR-PA method, the number of IRS units in each block possesses a significant SR performance. In addition, the application PA strategies, namely ES, PSO, SA methods outperforms the other PA strategies with fixed PA factors.

Self-supervised learning (SSL) representations from massively multilingual models offer a promising solution for low-resource language speech tasks. Despite advancements, language adaptation in TTS systems remains an open problem. This paper explores the language adaptation capability of ZMM-TTS, a recent SSL-based multilingual TTS system proposed in our previous work. We conducted experiments on 12 languages using limited data with various fine-tuning configurations. We demonstrate that the similarity in phonetics between the pre-training and target languages, as well as the language category, affects the target language's adaptation performance. Additionally, we find that the fine-tuning dataset size and number of speakers influence adaptability. Surprisingly, we also observed that using paired data for fine-tuning is not always optimal compared to audio-only data. Beyond speech intelligibility, our analysis covers speaker similarity, language identification, and predicted MOS.

Specifically, an SCD model, named SCDNet, is proposed. With this model, various state-of-the-art SSL models, including Hubert, wav2vec 2.0, and WavLm are investigated. To discern the most potent layer of SSL models for SCD, a learnable weighting method is employed to analyze the effectiveness of intermediate representations. Additionally, a fine-tuning-based approach is also implemented to further compare the characteristics of SSL models in the SCD task. Furthermore, a contrastive learning method is proposed to mitigate the overfitting tendencies in the training of both the fine-tuning-based method and SCDNet. Network device and system health management is the foundation of modern network operations and maintenance. Traditional health management methods, relying on expert identification or simple rule-based algorithms, struggle to cope with the dynamic heterogeneous networks (DHNs) environment. Moreover, current state-of-the-art distributed anomaly detection methods, which utilize specific machine learning techniques, lack multi-scale adaptivity for heterogeneous device information, resulting in unsatisfactory diagnostic accuracy for DHNs. In this paper, we develop an LLM-assisted end-to-end intelligent network health management framework. The framework first proposes a Multi-Scale Semanticized Anomaly Detection Model (MSADM), incorporating semantic rule trees with an attention mechanism to address the multi-scale anomaly detection problem in DHNs. Secondly, a chain-of-thought-based large language model is embedded in downstream to adaptively analyze the fault detection results and produce an analysis report with detailed fault information and optimization strategies. Experimental results show that the accuracy of our proposed MSADM for heterogeneous network entity anomaly detection is as high as 91.31\%.

With the proliferation of Large Language Model (LLM) based deepfake audio, there is an urgent need for effective detection methods. Previous deepfake audio generation methods typically involve a multi-step generation process, with the final step using a vocoder to predict the waveform from handcrafted features. However, LLM-based audio is directly generated from discrete neural codecs in an end-to-end generation process, skipping the final step of vocoder processing. This poses a significant challenge for current audio deepfake detection (ADD) models based on vocoder artifacts. To effectively detect LLM-based deepfake audio, we focus on the core of the generation process, the conversion from neural codec to waveform. We propose Codecfake dataset, which is generated by seven representative neural codec methods. Experiment results show that codec-trained ADD models exhibit a 41.406% reduction in average equal error rate compared to vocoder-trained ADD models on the Codecfake test set.

This article presents a digital twin (DT)-enhanced reinforcement learning (RL) framework aimed at optimizing performance and reliability in network resource management, since the traditional RL methods face several unified challenges when applied to physical networks, including limited exploration efficiency, slow convergence, poor long-term performance, and safety concerns during the exploration phase. To deal with the above challenges, a comprehensive DT-based framework is proposed to enhance the convergence speed and performance for unified RL-based resource management. The proposed framework provides safe action exploration, more accurate estimates of long-term returns, faster training convergence, higher convergence performance, and real-time adaptation to varying network conditions. Then, two case studies on ultra-reliable and low-latency communication (URLLC) services and multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) network are presented, demonstrating improvements of the proposed framework in performance, convergence speed, and training cost reduction both on traditional RL and neural network based Deep RL (DRL). Finally, the article identifies and explores some of the research challenges and open issues in this rapidly evolving field.

The failure mode of the phone falling has a lot to do with the ground material. At present, the research on ground material and mobile phone damage is generally carried out through experiments, which is extremely costly. This paper presents a method to identify the material of mobile phones falling on the ground. The method determines the material of the mobile phone falling to the ground according to the data of the mobile phone accelerometer and can obtain the ground material of the mobile phone falling through a large number of user data. By analyzing the physical process of mobile phone falling, the accelerometer data interval which can reflect the characteristics of falling is reasonably intercepted. And the data features that can reflect the collision are extracted. Finally, based on the fully connected neural network, the method of determining the material of mobile phones falling on the ground is developed. The experimental results show that the method has a high identification rate, and the average identification rate for different ground materials is 96.75%. Instead of relying on auxiliary devices, the identification process only relies on the phone's built-in acceleration sensor. This paper fills the gap in the field of mobile phone falling ground material identification. It has a great contribution to the collection of user drop data, the analysis of the drop process, and the improvement of mobile phone design defects.

This paper defines Spoof Diarization as a novel task in the Partial Spoof (PS) scenario. It aims to determine what spoofed when, which includes not only locating spoof regions but also clustering them according to different spoofing methods. As a pioneering study in spoof diarization, we focus on defining the task, establishing evaluation metrics, and proposing a benchmark model, namely the Countermeasure-Condition Clustering (3C) model. Utilizing this model, we first explore how to effectively train countermeasures to support spoof diarization using three labeling schemes. We then utilize spoof localization predictions to enhance the diarization performance. In clinical practice, 2D magnetic resonance (MR) sequences are widely adopted. While individual 2D slices can be stacked to form a 3D volume, the relatively large slice spacing can pose challenges for both image visualization and subsequent analysis tasks, which often require isotropic voxel spacing. To reduce slice spacing, deep-learning-based super-resolution techniques are widely investigated. However, most current solutions require a substantial number of paired high-resolution and low-resolution images for supervised training, which are typically unavailable in real-world scenarios. In this work, we propose a self-supervised super-resolution framework for inter-slice super-resolution of MR images. Our framework is first featured by pre-training on video dataset, as temporal correlation of videos is found beneficial for modeling the spatial relation among MR slices. Then, we use public high-quality MR dataset to fine-tune our pre-trained model, for enhancing awareness of our model to medical data. Finally, given a target dataset at hand, we utilize self-supervised fine-tuning to further ensure our model works well with user-specific super-resolution tasks. The proposed method demonstrates superior performance compared to other self-supervised methods and also holds the potential to benefit various downstream applications.

Mispronunciation Detection and Diagnosis (MDD) systems, leveraging Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), face two main challenges in Mandarin Chinese: 1) The two-stage models create an information gap between the phoneme or tone classification stage and the MDD stage. 2) The scarcity of Mandarin MDD datasets limits model training. In this paper, we introduce a stateless RNN-T model for Mandarin MDD, utilizing HuBERT features with pitch embedding through a Pitch Fusion Block. Our model, trained solely on native speaker data, shows a 3% improvement in Phone Error Rate and a 7% increase in False Acceptance Rate over the state-of-the-art baseline in non-native scenarios

Accurate control of the total duration of generated speech by adjusting the speech rate is crucial for various text-to-speech (TTS) applications. However, the impact of adjusting the speech rate on speech quality, such as intelligibility and speaker characteristics, has been underexplored. In this work, we propose a novel total-duration-aware (TDA) duration model for TTS, where phoneme durations are predicted not only from the text input but also from an additional input of the total target duration. We also propose a MaskGIT-based duration model that enhances the diversity and quality of the predicted phoneme durations. Our results demonstrate that the proposed TDA duration models achieve better intelligibility and speaker similarity for various speech rate configurations compared to the baseline models. We also show that the proposed MaskGIT-based model can generate phoneme durations with higher quality and diversity compared to its regression or flow-matching counterparts.

The kNN-CTC model has proven to be effective for monolingual automatic speech recognition (ASR). However, its direct application to multilingual scenarios like code-switching, presents challenges. Although there is potential for performance improvement, a kNN-CTC model utilizing a single bilingual datastore can inadvertently introduce undesirable noise from the alternative language. To address this, we propose a novel kNN-CTC-based code-switching ASR (CS-ASR) framework that employs dual monolingual datastores and a gated datastore selection mechanism to reduce noise interference. Our method selects the appropriate datastore for decoding each frame, ensuring the injection of language-specific information into the ASR process. We apply this framework to cutting-edge CTC-based models, developing an advanced CS-ASR system. Extensive experiments demonstrate the remarkable effectiveness of our gated datastore mechanism in enhancing the performance of zero-shot Chinese-English CS-ASR.

The generalization of Fake Audio Detection (FAD) is critical due to the emergence of new spoofing techniques. Traditional FAD methods often focus solely on distinguishing between genuine and known spoofed audio. We propose a Genuine-Focused Learning (GFL) framework guided, aiming for highly generalized FAD, called GFL-FAD. This method incorporates a Counterfactual Reasoning Enhanced Representation (CRER) based on audio reconstruction using the Mask AutoEncoder (MAE) architecture to accurately model genuine audio features. To reduce the influence of spoofed audio during training, we introduce a genuine audio reconstruction loss, maintaining the focus on learning genuine data features. In addition, content-related bottleneck (BN) features are extracted from the MAE to supplement the knowledge of the original audio. These BN features are adaptively fused with CRER to further improve robustness. Our method achieves state-of-the-art performance with an EER of 0.25% on ASVspoof2019 LA.

However, the rapid evolution of deepfake algorithms poses a critical challenge in the accurate identification of out-of-distribution (OOD) novel deepfake algorithms. In this paper, we propose Real Emphasis and Fake Dispersion (REFD) strategy for audio deepfake algorithm recognition, demonstrating its effectiveness in discriminating ID samples while identifying OOD samples. For effective OOD detection, we first explore current post-hoc OOD methods and propose NSD, a novel OOD approach in identifying novel deepfake algorithms through the similarity consideration of both feature and logits scores. REFD achieves 86.83% F1-score as a single system in Audio Deepfake Detection Challenge 2023 Track3, showcasing its state-of-the-art performance.

Although current fake audio detection approaches have achieved remarkable success on specific datasets, they often fail when evaluated with datasets from different distributions. Previous studies typically address distribution shift by focusing on using extra data or applying extra loss restrictions during training. However, these methods either require a substantial amount of data or complicate the training process. In this work, we propose a stable learning-based training scheme that involves a Sample Weight Learning (SWL) module, addressing distribution shift by decorrelating all selected features via learning weights from training samples. The proposed portable plug-in-like SWL is easy to apply to multiple base models and generalizes them without using extra data during training. Experiments conducted on the ASVspoof datasets clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of SWL in generalizing different models across three evaluation datasets from different distributions.

The combination of double rotated serpentine springs (RSS) and vertical comb-drive is a suitbale solution for the development of torsional micromirror with high fill factor, low fabrication difficulty and good performance. However, the alignment error between upper and lower comb set caused by fabrication can induce force with unexpected direction. And the cross-axis coupled spring constants in double rotated serpentine springs (DRSSs) makes micromirror more susceptible to this alignment error. Herein, in order to minimize the unexpected deflection caused by alignment error of vertical-comb-driven micromirror, this paper, for the first time, studies the effect of layout (centrosymmetrically-arranged and axisymmetrically-arranged) of DRSSs on cross-axis coupled spring constants. Both of theoretical analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) simulation are conducted to reveal this phenomenon. With an example, centrosymmetrically-arranged DRSSs are proved to be more resistant to pull-in of two comb sets. Finally, the relationship between key structure parameters and cross-axis coupled spring constants of centrosymmetrically -arranged DRSSs are presented.

We introduce Seed-TTS, a family of large-scale autoregressive text-to-speech (TTS) models capable of generating speech that is virtually indistinguishable from human speech. Seed-TTS serves as a foundation model for speech generation and excels in speech in-context learning, achieving performance in speaker similarity and naturalness that matches ground truth human speech in both objective and subjective evaluations. With fine-tuning, we achieve even higher subjective scores across these metrics. Seed-TTS offers superior controllability over various speech attributes such as emotion and is capable of generating highly expressive and diverse speech for speakers in the wild. Furthermore, we propose a self-distillation method for speech factorization, as well as a reinforcement learning approach to enhance model robustness, speaker similarity, and controllability. We additionally present a non-autoregressive (NAR) variant of the Seed-TTS model, named $\text{Seed-TTS}_\text{DiT}$, which utilizes a fully diffusion-based architecture. Unlike previous NAR-based TTS systems, $\text{Seed-TTS}_\text{DiT}$ does not depend on pre-estimated phoneme durations and performs speech generation through end-to-end processing. We demonstrate that this variant achieves comparable performance to the language model-based variant and showcase its effectiveness in speech editing. Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a common mental disorder that typically affects a person's mood, cognition, behavior, and physical health. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) data are widely used for computer-aided diagnosis of MDD. While multi-site fMRI data can provide more data for training reliable diagnostic models, significant cross-site data heterogeneity would result in poor model generalizability. Many domain adaptation methods are designed to reduce the distributional differences between sites to some extent, but usually ignore overfitting problem of the model on the source domain. Intuitively, target data augmentation can alleviate the overfitting problem by forcing the model to learn more generalized features and reduce the dependence on source domain data. In this work, we propose a new augmentation-based unsupervised cross-domain fMRI adaptation (AUFA) framework for automatic diagnosis of MDD. The AUFA consists of 1) a graph representation learning module for extracting rs-fMRI features with spatial attention, 2) a domain adaptation module for feature alignment between source and target data, 3) an augmentation-based self-optimization module for alleviating model overfitting on the source domain, and 4) a classification module. Experimental results on 1,089 subjects suggest that AUFA outperforms several state-of-the-art methods in MDD identification. Our approach not only reduces data heterogeneity between different sites, but also localizes disease-related functional connectivity abnormalities and provides interpretability for the model.

With the growing scale and intrinsic heterogeneity of Internet of Things (IoT) systems, distributed device collaboration becomes essential for effective task completion by dynamically utilizing limited communication and computing resources. However, the separated design and situation-agnostic operation of computing, communication and application layers create a fundamental challenge for rapid task-resource matching, which further deteriorate the overall task completion effectiveness. To overcome this challenge, we utilize hypergraph as a new tool to vertically unify computing, communication, and task aspects of IoT systems for an effective matching by accurately capturing the relationships between tasks and communication and computing resources. Specifically, a state-of-the-art task-resource matching hypergraph (TRM-hypergraph) model is proposed in this paper, which is used to effectively transform the process of allocating complex heterogeneous resources to convoluted tasks into a hypergraph matching problem. Taking into account computational complexity and storage, a game-theoretic hypergraph matching algorithm is proposed via considering the hypergraph matching problem as a non-cooperative multi-player clustering game. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed TRM-hypergraph model achieves superior performance in matching of tasks and resources compared with comparison algorithms.
