Reigns: Three Kingdoms 12+

Read this before you get it!

1. If you don’t like reading, don’t do it

This is a very story based game and it is built off the pure fact that you need to read along. The other mechanic is the battling, but I have played for a while now and you only battle a tiny bit. But the battle is turn based so quite simple.

2. If you’ve played the others, get it.

Apart from the mechanic, the story completely differs.

3. If you don’t have a Netflix account…

You do need Netflix for this but it is another reason why Netflix is useful!

Good grief this game gets dull after the first 5 minutes. The first three play throughs felt somewhat unique and stuff did actually happen however anything after that is just cookie cutter and repetitive. I can’t begin to tell you how many runs have been comprised of the exact same choices in the exact same order. Completing the main objective is close to if not pretty much impossible. Firstly because whatever you have to do to trigger a region takeover never happens and by the time something interesting happens you’ve been murdered because people like you too much. What kind of logic is that? I’ve barely got to experience the combat mechanic whatsoever because over 15 runs battles have cropped up 4 times because again, the game never mixes up the choices and every play through is the same.

Also the choices you make are totally illogical. People will dislike choices you make in their favour for some reason. Like if you lower taxes for example, the farmers get to keep more of their crop and eat better yet for some reason they hate you for it? And then there’s people sticking their nose into decision they have no business caring about. Rude to a scholar (whom no one likes)? Well the people don’t like that one bit!

Now that it works, I would gladly recommend. It feels less repetitive than Reigns and Her Majesty (don’t know about the GOT and space ones) and like there’s an actual objective to complete, and the 'quest' system is cool as well.
