Unparalleled!

Mail is such a great app! Its highlighting feature is its incredible simplicity and modern design with rounded corners. It makes the app a joy to use because everything feels minimised and unobtrusive. I also love its productivity features, such as the ability to flag emails and organise them into different folders. However, there is one feature that I believe is underrated. That feature is Mail’s unparalleled commitment to user privacy. It is remarkably secure. For example, the amazing Hide My Email feature hides your email address and creates a unique random address that forwards to your real address. This alone makes it a great alternative to others, such as the Gmail app, which freely collects an alarming amount of user data. Overall, Mail is a great app and I strongly believe that more users should use it as their primary emailing app!

Notifications are intermittent???

I use both Outlook & Mail on my iPhone (for different E-Mail addresses). Outlook pretty much works reliably whereas Mail is choppy at best. It’s 50/50 whether I receive a notification on the Lock Screen of new mails. There’s no particular pattern in play (done the usual dance with uninstalling, reinstalling, removing account, changing from a Pop3 to an IMAP etc etc etc). The only sure way of knowing if new mails have arrived is to physically open the app??? It’s a good job it’s not handling my primary address that receives important mails (thank Outlook 👍). Hmmm? It just doesn’t make sense that Apple aren’t dealing with this problematic app 🤔 maybe they assume that their user base mainly use GMail or Outlook so have given up on Mail ? Several months ago Outlook was suffering from a similar notification issue, after much digging (I’ll try and keep it simple here!!) it seems that Outlook use two servers, one to deliver the notification and another to deliver the EMail (once the app is opened!). Needless to say the issue was notification server related. The problem was patched/fixed within a week. It was pretty well documented so stopped users from wasting precious time reinstalling software or in extreme cases the entire OS on the advice of support teams!! I can’t help but think Apple have a notification server issue as per Outlooks issue. However, I’m not an Apple expert so things may work a little different on their app ?? 🤔

Move email menu keeps closing unexpectedly

I’ve been using this app for many years across multiple devices and iphones without any issues, but over the last few months I’ve noticed a recurring problem when attempting to move emails from my inbox to other folders; I’ll press edit and then select a singular or multiple emails to move, press “move email(s),” and when the folders menu opens, it suddenly closes before I have the chance to select the desired folder. Occasionally it lets me scroll through them momentarily before closing again. I’ve also tried using the swipe left option to bring up the required options and folder menu, as well as clicking on each email individually and attempting to move the email from there, but both with the same result.

My only work-around, which only works about 50% of the time, is to move my emails to an auto/pre-selected folder, and then go to that folder, and proceed to move them to the desired folder from there!

I’ve tried updating my iphone software installment to its latest version with each release, yet the issue still persists!
I’ve checked all of the options in my phone’s settings menus without any avail. Hopefully this issue will be rectified in the near future, or I may have to switch to another mail supplier, which would be a huge shame seeing as I have been using gmail for so long.
