Description

Magic Hour (also called golden hour) is the time of day around sunrise and sunset when the light is great for photography and cinematography. It is typically when the sun is between 6 degrees below the horizon to 6 degrees above. This sunlight is evenly dispersed and helps you create great pictures.

Magic Hour makes it easy for you to know when magic hour is coming and how much time you have left once it begins. The app takes your location along with the current day and calculates when magic hour will occur. If the weather forecast is available we give that to you as well.

What other light is cool to photograph in? The moon, of course. And you want a full moon for that. Our Moon Watch section lets you know the next moonrise and when the next full moon will appear.

In addition to this, you can set up notifications on and before magic hour begins. And with our in-app purchase you can select locations other than your current one, view future magic hour times, and create calendar events for them.

Data that is used with the Magic Hour App (e.g. locations, notifications, calendar events, etc.) remain local to your device and are not transmitted nor remotely stored.

Simple and Effective

Magic Hour is a nice simple app and works as you would expect. It shows you the position of the sun and tells you how long until the next Magic Hour (or how long is remaining if in the midst of one).

It also includes information on moon phases, such as when the next full moon is, additionally showing its position just like with the sun.

Finally, you can input your location or others for an accurate magic hour timer for specific cities/locations. A quite handy weather prompt is also present to determine if weather conditions line up well with the magic hour.

There are people complaining that this app reports magic hour, yet the weather is dark and dingy, or rainy. The thing is, magic hour is still occurring regardless of weather—the app doesn't report magic hour based on cloud formation and weather, but on the position of the sun. The weather conditions are just something that affect how magic hour will look.

Magic hour

Love your app pity about the background photo a bit bland for your app a glorious sunrise or sunset would have been more appropriate but still a great app with plenty of information all for free well done team.

This app is just that. No bells or whistles, just a very simple, effective tool that tells you all you need to know. Perfect.
