Good app with some limitations

I’ve read a range of opinions on this app and want to add mine. I had hundreds of old colour/black & white film negatives of various sizes taken by my father that I wanted to review and share with family. During the free trial, I used an iPad for backlight and handheld the negatives, and got promising but not great results due to pixelation and camera shake. I invested in a small light box and used a phone stand (and used the voice control to start scanning). I’ve had excellent results by this method. Perhaps not suitable for large prints, but for viewing on a phone or tablet, and deciding which pictures you might want to get a “real” print of, it’s great. The one aspect that has been poor, in my experience, is the automatic cropping. Even when the negative has a well defined border, it may only show you 25-50% of the image after auto-processing (and sometimes a very skewed image). After I’ve scanned a batch of negatives, I always review them and adjust the cropping on most of them. It’s easy to do but does add extra time to the process. Overall, I would certainly recommend this app.

A Must Have App for any Film Fans

Firstly I don’t normally write reviews, but I wanted to take the time to review this app as I feel it deserves my attention. I have had a passion for film photography for as long as I can remember, but the increasing cost of developing put me off for a long time. I recently purchased a daylight box and developed my first films - super! But then I had to research how to digitise them. To get the best results, it is definitely recommended to scan them properly or take pics with a DSLR etc but this app allows me to save heaps of time by ‘pre-digitising’ my negatives; I can quickly scan them and get a good idea of which ones I want to focus on before digitising them with my computer software. In that sense, it’s well worth the investment as it saves me both time and money in the long run. So thank you for providing an excellent app that is easy to use and for me, produces excellent results.

Hidden treasures

What an absolute wonderful app being a certain age that I am when I saw the advert on my phone my husband said it will be rubbish not worth your money he said.
Well I cannot tell you the most happiest memories have flooded my brain - I had for some bizarre reason held on to more than 3000 negatives and I just didn’t know who or what was on them.
I love this app and so do my nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters who have all shared the memories and loved phoning often in disbelief as to what we were wearing!
The app is well worth the £20 odd pounds that I paid - I was fortunate enough to already have a light box which made it easier as the advert showed the person holding the negative I couldn’t do that due to the level of my shakiness in my hand .
A most wonderful app - much enjoyment so thank you.
