Description

Build an AC or DC electrical circuit by adding, dragging and rotating components and then snapping them together. The steady state response is calculated instantly at the tap of a button. DC current flows can be animated on screen.

Zoom and pan around with standard gestures to view the voltages and currents which are displayed on the schematic.

Circuit Calculator is an ideal companion for anyone studying electrical engineering and is great for quickly checking your answers when you've solved a circuit analysis problem by hand. Enter component parameters as real and imaginary or modulus and argument, just as you would be given in a typical homework problem. Please note that this app doesn't perform transient analysis.

Main Features:

・Create your circuit schematic on screen
・Solve and show the results on the schematic
・Calculate steady state currents, voltages and power
・Show animated dc current flows
・Calculate Thévenin/Norton equivalent circuit values
・Choose polar or rectangular notation for AC
・Share circuits via Messages or Mail apps
・Print out your circuit
・Copy circuit to clipboard
・Load / save circuits on your device or in iCloud
・Undo / redo actions
・Copy / paste components
・Built in user guide

Available Components:

・Independent ideal current sources
・Independent ideal voltage sources
・Current controlled current sources
・Current controlled voltage sources
・Voltage controlled current sources
・Voltage controlled voltage sources
・Resistors
・Capacitors
・Inductors
・Mutually coupled inductors - AC only
・Impedances - AC only
・Diodes - DC only

Voltage settings

How do you set the voltage of the cell? Couldn't find anything on it please help

Developer Response ,

Hi there. Once you've added a component (including a voltage source) you can select or deselect it with a single tap. When selected the component will turn red and you'll be able to tap the pencil icon on the toolbar to edit it's value. Enter a value and tap done to update. You may need to double tap the toolbar to show all the icons at once if you can't see the pencil. Hope this helps but if not, please drop me an email to nwd.apps@gmail.com and I'll be able to reply with some screen shots etc.

Brilliant App

I love this app. It's got a great user interface and is really easy to get started. Just add a component, set it's parameters then drag with your finger to move or double tap to rotate. The zoom to fit button is a great feature as well as it fits the whole circuit on the visible screen.

I'm not sure what the previous comment was about as all the circuits I've built and tested work perfectly.

The app only calculates steady state voltages and currents so if you need to work out transients then this is not for you. That said it does what it does brilliantly well.

Functional and easy to use

The controls from the get go we're very intuitive and a quick glance as the compact user guide showed me any gestures or settings I didn't figure out on my own. I checked some practical homework from Uni and it analysed it quicker and more correctly than I did ;)

Seems like it would be a good companion to check any quick calculations out and also a good tool to help plan simple circuits.
