Excellent canasta game but...
This game is very enjoyable -- pure play with no ads, good colourful graphics, a very useful card-sort at a click. But there is one annoying rule allowed; players are allowed to pick up the top card from the discard pile if they have an unfinished meld to add it to (fine, that's the usual rule played in my family for years) but then the whole of the rest of the discard pack follows it too, each time.
Is this an alternative version that we just haven't met before? Seems very unbalanced & changes the nature of the game. This and the fact that you only need one canasta to go out reinforces speed of crash-bang play rather than our usual slightly slower-paced, more subtle and enjoyable finesse.
Like playing this game but …
Since the iOS 15 update this app has stopped showing how the score is worked out. It’s nice to see how you got whatever your score is
At Last
Been waiting for Canasta ever since I bought the iPhone and at last someone has made the effort. I've just spent the last 1/2 hour playing a very entertaining game and was actually beaten which doesn't happen very often. I agree that it would be good to ask/be asked about going out but other than that a very quick clean implementation of an old classic, now lets have a rematch...
