As we reflect on the first half of the year at ICDBP, we pride ourselves on our approach to placemaking. Experience is at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to delivering programmes that are meaningful for our communities! Here’s a look back at some of our exciting activities so far this year:   Standing Wave: Commissioned by ICD Brookfield Place Arts, STANDING WAVE by Jordan Söderberg Mills is a light and glass installation that creates a ripple of colour that shifts and travels with you as you move through ICD Brookfield Place. Chiaroscuro: CHIAROSCURO, curated by Michèle Lamy in collaboration with Carpenters Workshop Gallery, reflected Dubai’s contrasting landscape from day to night, highlighting the dichotomy of light and dark. Colours of Ramadan: Designed with inspiration from traditional mosque architecture, Colours of Ramadan featured works by May Ali, blending soft pastels and bright shades to capture the spirit of Ramadan. Rooted: Rooted, our eco-conscious market, blossomed in the Summer Garden with vendors dedicated to ethically sourced and sustainable products, complemented by educational workshops. Wellness Week: Our Wellness Week was a huge success, featuring a fantastic lineup of classes, challenges, and exclusive promotions with our tenants, culminating on International Wellness Day with a buzzing Summer Garden and gyms. Cocktail Week: Our community came together to enjoy unique and refreshing drinks crafted by top mixologists from La Niña, Lulus, Josette, and The Guild. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect and share stories. Tasmeem: Memory Box: Our annual graphic design and poster show, conceptualised by the ICD Brookfield Place Arts Programme, showcased the essence of folkloric tales, dances, music, proverbs, and games that shape our collective heritage.   At ICD Brookfield Place, we are dedicated to building spaces that celebrate our shared experiences and unique stories. Introducing Tasmeem: Memory Box! Tasmeem is an annual graphic design and poster show conceptualised by ICD Brookfield Place Arts Programme that aims to expand upon the discourse and display of graphic design for upcoming and established regional talent. This year’s theme is Memory Box. We held a fantastic launch event, featuring Souq Tasmeem, a market for young designers, makers and creatives showcasing handcrafted designs, zines, posters and more. Tasmeem: Memory Box is open to the public and free to visit on level 1 at ICD Brookfield Place. As we transition from childhood to adulthood, the experiences and narratives we encounter shape our existence. This year’s exhibition explores the folkloric tales, dances, music, proverbs, and games integral to our upbringing, revealing the shared experiences that thread through our lives. Through visually compelling representations, this exhibition captures the essence of these cultural treasures, illustrating how they weave the tapestry of our collective heritage and emphasizing the interconnection of our individual narratives. Exhibiting Artists: Adnan Arif & Lena Kassicieh, Dana Al Sheyyab, Hala Al Afsaa, Hessa Naser Alkhanji, Kanaka Raghavan, Mahynour Sawa, Marina Nader Asham, Mezna Suwaidan, Sarah Khorbtli, Shoug Abdullah Almutairi, Toka Assal, Waleed Abodouh Mohamed. This year’s open call was developed by Multidisciplinary Designer Wafa AlFalahi.
