I'm just delighted to hear that there are still fields where not all the top publication outlets are in English. The hegemony of English in academia bothers me greatly. I don't have an answer to your question though.

  • @Philip: Well in this case, neither of the conferences are "top" by international standards. It's a comparison between a high quality locally renowned non-English conference vs a medium-quality locally renowned English conference. Commented Apr 17, 2016 at 6:27
  • The quality of the conference does not really matter. It is the quality of your paper that matters.

  • It's the same paper. The question is, what publishing venue should I aim for considering the circumstances? Commented Apr 17, 2016 at 8:42
  • Does the "high quality (local) non-English conference or journal" require publishing in the non-English language or do they also allow publications in English? Commented Apr 17, 2016 at 9:54
