Whiskey Cake

OMG!!! Allow me to have an honest moment with you right now. I have literally walked into this restaurant, looked at their menu, and walked right back out, because I didn't think I'd enjoy anything they had to offer. Anytime anyone suggested this place, I'd always say "Nope, I don't like their menu!" Let me tell you..I am so upset with myself for avoiding this place for as long as I have. I have been depriving myself of so much deliciousness and it's sickening!
First of all, let me talk about the waiter. This guy did such an amazing job!!! He had sooo many tables, but he was on it. I told him I wanted a cocktail that was strong, but not crazy strong. [whatever that means right?] The drink he recommended was exactly that. Don't let me start on the food! Well, I'm going to anyway. It left me wanting more. Why the portion of cheddar jalapeño grits were so tiny, I have no idea, but more please! Everything hit the spot. I tried to recreate the bacon at home, but epic fail!
Listen up! If you have not tried Whiskey cake yet, you are doing your taste buds a disservice. It's a family friendly, casual vibe kinda place, with food that is clearly out of this world amazing! What are you waiting for? Do not sleep on them like I did. Get there ASAP!!!

Modern rustic decor. Food is always consistently good. Today, I ordered the burger and it was cooked perfectly at a medium temperature. My wife ordered a chicken salad and she enjoyed it despite the hint of black pepper note. The smokey bourbon old fashioned paired perfectly with our meal.

The service is was on point. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive and even prepared our smoked old fashion.

The ambiance is perfect if you're looking for an elevated casual dining place.

I love this restaurant and their namesake dessert! The service is always amazing and I love the vibes - classy casual. This is a great place to celebrate a birthday or just get the family together for a tasty dinner. Here is what I ordered this time around and how I would rate:

- Kale salad with roasted chicken (7/10)
- Deviled eggs (8/10)
- Jessica Wabbit; cold pressed carrot juice with ginger (10/10)
- Whiskey cake (1000000/10)

I always order the Jessica Wabbit as a beverage... it has an amazing, refreshing flavor (and it's alcohol free)! There food is always pretty good but definitely go for the whiskey cake. It's HEAVENLY and you will have zero regrets saving room for this deliciousness!

Another GREAT experience!! Tried the corn dogs and the crab fritters. Both were really good. Our server at the bar was amazing. The service is always top notch. It was not too busy but very comfortable and relaxing ambiance to take in the afternoon. Chicken and waffles amazed again. Can't go wrong with the chicken and waffles. Go visit whiskey cake soon.

It's been a while since I've been to Whiskey Cake, and our meal was mostly great. We skipped on dessert, yet we filled up on the meal. Why did we wait so long to return to this farm to fork restaurant? I'm glad we went!

The Local Board: I think it was actually the Butcher's Board on the menu. Most of the items were delicious, yet some items were too spicy for my taste. The pimento cheese, one of the sausages, and corn fritz were not my fav because they was too much heat behind the bite. Everything else was okay, yet I'm ordering my go-to next time, the fried green tomatoes and deviled eggs.

Beer: We hoped that a place like Whiskey Cake would have a beer we already loved, and they did. If you want a nutty stout, get the 512 Pecan Porter. And, you're welcome.

My kiddo ate parts of their chicken tenders, yet they weren't really hungry. I've had their chicken and friends, and it's delicious.

Chicken and Waffles: My said said it was good, and he ate all of it. I'm sure I could have asked for a bite or two, yet I was happy with my meal too!

Shrimp and Grits: In the pic, you'll barely see the shrimp and you won't see the grits because it's buried under deliciousness. This was one of the heartiest shrimp and grits I've had in quite some time. I couldn't finished my meal. I was SO full!

So, minus one star for an okay charcuterie board and for the hostess ignoring my standard table request on OpenTable. They tried to give us bar height seats. Everything else was fantastic!

I tried their famous whiskey cake through Uber Eats. The order was done in a timely manner. The cake came with two different types of whipped creams. I have not tried whiskey cake before, so I have nothing to compare it to. I thought cake was pretty good!

It is a really tall cake, and the syrup soaks towards the bottom so that makes the bottom layers more moist. I wouldn't go back to this restaurant specifically to get this cake, but it was fun to try!

It was an evening with my Alpha Chi sorority sisters @whiskeycakesa for Social Hour. It was great to catch up and share stories and share food.

I had the Colada Fresca and House Red Wine. I ordered the Deviled Eggs and Wagyu Corn Dogs to share. Carolynn ordered the Charcuterie Board and Chicken Meatballs to share. Karen got the Drunken Mussels. I had wanted to try the Bone Marrow but felt full. Maybe next time!

I went in for a quick bite on a Saturday afternoon. I was greeted promptly and found room at the bar. The staff at the bar were attentive and friendly. They provided outstanding service. I ordered their duck wings and paired it with a Still Whiskey *burbon* from Austin, TX. It was absolutely delicious. I watched the bar server make other fun drinks while I was there. Needless to say, I had a pleasant experience here! I'll definitely come back again. Come check them out for yourself!

I stopped because for drinks and dessert and had a blast. The namesake, the whiskey cake, is absolutely delicious. It's moist, lightly spiced and just the right amount of sweet. The sauce gives it that little something extra! Their bar is on fire. Every time I've had a drink it has been wonderful. I'll be back!

Have been several times and will be back several times more! This is our go-to for celebrations given the causal but upscale atmosphere and local, seasonal cuisine. The cocktails never fail to impress. For the kids, the meals are adorable -- served on little lunch trays-- are delicious enough to be envied by the adults! Service is always friendly and helpful.
