Sewa is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood, serving up some of the best Nepalese and Indian food around. The food is super delicious, with amazing flavors that really hit the spot. You've got to try the naan--it's super fresh and perfect every time. The chicken curry is also a winner, with rich, tasty goodness in every bite. If you're into Nepalese or Indian cuisine, you need to check this place out. Great food, cozy vibe, and friendly service. Highly recommend!

Great vegetarian options, and so delicious! Excellent service and atmosphere too. Veggie pakoras and Chana saag were yummy.

Yelp is great because they share with me insights into new places to experience and Sewa was on the top of my list.

We started with the Sewa Chat and it was delicious. The papadam wasn't as crispy as we're accustomed to but the tamarind and other chutneys were thick, tasty and fantastic.

My wife enjoyed the mixed vegetables curry extra spicy and I liked the chicken tikka masala.

The service was fabulous and friendly.

We really loved the bright and beautiful decor.

      We'll definitely be back:)

First visit and I understand the five star reviews.
Enjoyed a variety of dishes, all scored high marks: veg samosa, pakoras, papadam, but the best was the chicken tikka masala momo (two of my all time favorites in one). Salted Lassi was also fantastic. As was the side of mango chutney.

Great service and even threw on the soccer for us.

      A++

We will be back very soon.

PS they will also do certain dishes (like the tikka momos) mild, medium or hot. We went hot and it was perfect. But would recommend medium for the uninitiated.

      I love this place!!
It's brand spankin' new, so hurry and take advantage of the soft opening 15% off!

My friend and I met here for a late lunch, and we were the only ones here. No biggie! Lots of people were walking by and curious about this spot, so I'm hopeful it'll pick up some speed over time.

The waiter asked if we wanted a mango lassi because he JUST made it and we couldn't refuse. It was DELICIOUS!! Get one. You won't regret it.

My friend and I are botb pescatarians, and we felt so special just reading the menu because we had so many options to choose from. Bread basket, delicious. Try it all.

We also got the butter paneer and it was great! If you're craving the sauce, you can definitely fulfill it here.

Artichoke pakoda it was good, but it needed sauce IMO. It was nice and fried, flavor good, but I did want something to smother it in. Not sure if I'd order it again.

Buuuut let me tell you what I'm OBSESSED with. The BHINDI MASALA. If you like okra, or are a little picky about okra, or just willing to try out some okra, try this dish!! It's not pretty to look at, but let me tell you!!! Consistency, texture and flavor was everything and I think about this dish often. I'm not lying. I talked about how nice and crunchy the okra was on the outside, and tender on the inside.

Hurry and support this fantastic business!!

My husband and I recently tried the new Indian & Nepalese restaurant in the Inner Richmond, and I am thrilled to share my experience! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and we loved all of it.

      Here's what we enjoyed:

Veg Samosa: These seasoned potatoes and peas wrapped in light pastry were served with homemade Mint and Tamarind sauce. A perfect start to our meal with a delightful balance of flavors.

Saag Paneer: This dish was a standout. It reminded me of the best Saag Paneer I ever had at an Indian restaurant filled with Brits in Portugal. Absolutely phenomenal!

Aloo Baigun: Clay oven-roasted mashed eggplant with diced potatoes and spices. First time trying this and it didn't disappoint.

Apricot Chicken: A chef-recommended apricot-based creamy chicken curry with spices. The sweet and savory blend was exquisite.

Butter Naan: Perfectly soft and buttery, ideal for sopping up the delicious sauces.

Raita: Homemade yogurt with tiny pieces of cucumber, carrots, and cumin This cooling side dish complemented the spices perfectly.

Almond Kheer: A traditional rice pudding dessert made from aromatic basmati rice, whole milk, almonds, pistachio nuts, and sugar. A sweet ending to a perfect meal.

We ordered take-out via their website and walked to the restaurant for pick-up, but the dining room is beautiful with white tablecloths and a lovely atmosphere suitable for any occasion. The owner was incredibly nice and even gave us the dessert complimentary as a Grand Opening thank you. We are so happy to have this gem in our neighborhood and highly recommend it!

Sewa is a must-try for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Indian and Nepalese cuisine.

Came tonight and it was so good! Mouthwatering seafood curry, tandoori chicken, mix grill that had a bit of everything. Chicken, salmon, lamb, veggies, butter chicken...we had a variety of dishes.

We were given a Kale Salad....as an appetizer. It was awesome! Also had garlic and butter naan. Colorful, flavorful, spices were dancing on my tongue. Dessert homemade mango ice cream slices.

Our server was fast, efficient, friendly and explained everything...he even wrote down the names of all my leftover containers I took home!

I had a wonderful delicious dinner and I will be a returning customer! Place was clean, newly remodeled and a warm ambiance!

Currently soft opening. This Indian & Nepalese restaurant joins a few newcomers on this stretch of Clement St. 15% off your bill during this soft opening period. I believe the owner mentioned that Grand Opening is next month.

The interior looks much like its predecessor, Tasty Pot except it now also sports a table cloth, cloth napkins and a lovely rose on each table.

Food is really delicious and not too salty. We also requested all the food to be mild, but you can opt for additional spice. We especially enjoyed the butter chicken. The steam chicken Momo was delicious too. The butter naan has a lovely buttery smell and went well with the butter chicken as well as the Saag Tofu. For dessert, we opted for the Indian Pistachio Ice Cream (Pistachio Kulfi) and the owner also had us try a dish of the Rosmalai (sweet cheese patty with milk, cream and syrup).

Exceedingly gracious and friendly service. Can't wait to come back.

By the way, I looked up the word, Sewa and it means "selfless service" in Sanskrit although spelled a bit differently in English, may be the same meaning.

Went to this new Indian Nepalese restaurant on Friday night around 8 pm--packed and buzzing. Orders coming in, diners coming in; they were slammed. Got a nice table by the window, studied their extensive menu, then ordered. 45 minutes later still no food, but at least they brought our beer! How can I give a restaurant with such slow service a five-star review? The owners. Recognizing that their kitchen was backed up, they apologized, brought extra food, and made sure we were happy. One of the best dishes was sewa chat, essentially battered kale and chickpeas, with a nice chutney and crunch--superb. The rest of the dishes were great: butter chicken, veg steamed momo dumplings, and goat biryani. Each dish packed with flavor. We couldn't finish everything. They even brought us an extra order of momos to go since they were dissatisfied with how the first one was delivered. When I asked for the check, they brought a complimentary rice pudding. And, when I commented how much I love rice pudding, the owner ran back to the kitchen and brought me another to go. You have to try this place. We'll be back soon. I'm sure they will get the kinks out. Prices are very reasonable for quality, portion size, and taste. Bravo.
