Kora Moving of San Francisco started in 2018 with a radical promise to our customers. Our founder Carols Viera thought too many moving companies in SF were not treating their customers fairly. Fed up with their unscrupulous practices, he set out to change the industry for good. Carlos founded his own moving business with the radical goal of making a moving company truly dedicated to serving its populace. Carlos the owner with over 17 years experience Kora Moving rise to the top of the SF moving company podium is a result of our tireless hard work. Each year Kora moves hundreds of San Franciscans, both from their apartments and their offices, as nearby as in SF and as far away as Southern California.

Excellent moving service. We found out we were moving pretty last minute - after a fairly lengthy application process for our new apartment, we realized we only had 2 weeks to pack up all our stuff, book movers, and get out of our old unit. After I called a few moving places in SF that told us typically you need to book at least 3 weeks in advance for any given date, we were starting to panic. Luckily, Kora Moving was not only able to schedule us in with 6 days notice, but their moving quote was extremely reasonable. We were moving from a 1 bed 1 bath 550 sq ft apartment, so they sent over two employees. Not only did they call the day before to confirm our moving appointment for the following day, but they also called the day of to give us a 20 min heads up for their arrival. Once here, they performed a complete inspection of the unit (i.e. what they should move, what needed to be wrapped, etc) and then quickly got to work moving our things. They nicely packaged the mattress and wrapped all our furniture in cloth to prevent damage, all while still managing to haul everything up 2 flights of stairs. It took the movers approximately two hours to pack up the truck, which would've probably taken us 5 days. When we got to the new unit, they parked and immediately began unloading the truck, which took just over an hour (again, going up 2 flights of stairs. We're big on stairs, apparently). They very neatly lined up all our boxes and even sorted the living room vs. bedroom packages and furniture for us. We are very happy with the professional and quality moving services provided by Kora Moving and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable movers in San Francisco!

They are fast, efficient, hard working, and extremely affordable. They have moved our apartment twice in SF, and we have made multiple referrals to friends and everyone is so over the moon pleased with Kora Moving. I could not recommend this company enough. 6 out of 5 stars. I love these dudes. When we move again we will find you Kora guys!

Once again, Kora Movers did not disappoint! This was my 2nd move with this company and the movers were professional, helpful, fast, and friendly. I'd recommend Kora to anyone who is moving!

They called me prior to arriving, checked out the elevator and the apartment layout, and began loading items! It was also helpful that they've been to both the pickup and drop off buildings too. I recommend using Kora for your move. Save yourself headaches.

I used Kora Moving services today to move from 1bd (2nd floor no elevator) to a 1bd (1st floor) apartment. I am amazed how efficient, professional, and quick the two gentlemen were.
The movers arrived in the middle of the 30min arrival window that I was provided and called 15min ahead of time to confirm I'm ready to go. We managed to wrap everything up in less than 3h and that included 20min drive in between the apartments. I'd say I had a medium amount of stuff and I had everything packed in boxes and ready to go.
I have 2 friends who were moving about the same time as me who opted to use different moving services as they got lower quotes elsewhere. Both of them took longer than originally quoted and ended up paying more (not to mention wasting more time).
The gentlemen were very professional, easy to communicate, and once again I'm amazed how efficient they completed the job. Carlos and his team are absolutely AMAZING! They carried a 328 LB dining room table up 34 steps to my flat with no hesitation or complications! They did this HEAVY job with a smile! I first heard about Kora from a stager we began working with to help sell our condo. I then carefully researched Kora and was surprised to see more than 140+ 5-star reviews on Google (which is RARE for a moving company), and 90+ reviews on Yelp with 5-stars as well. They were also listed with BBB which indicated they took their business seriously. We ended up bidding three moving companies, and Kora's bid came in the most competitive. Also, Carlos (one of the owners) was the most responsive of anyone we spoke to. He was clear in his answers, quick with his responses, and made us feel comfortable with the overall process.
Kora was on-time for both the packing of our things, and, the move itself. His team was led by his brother Caesar who was extremely careful with our furniture and managed the team flawlessly throughout the day. It's important to note that we were a challenging client, as many pieces of our furniture required custom-made crates for added protection.
The delivery was completed without a single scratch on any of our items, and the team worked tirelessly to ensure we were happy with the move. I've moved 9 times in the past 30 years, and never had a good experience with it until I worked with Kora. I've used Kora Moving three times for moves within SF. Nothing has ever broken in transit and they've been ace at dealing with curve balls and furniture disassembly / reassembly. I'd recommend them to anyone!

I needed a couch moved through my window, they offered the best price from the places I called and were very flexible and able to come in short notice. The movers were friendly and very careful with the furniture and the places, and the person who talked to me on the phone was very polite. 10/10 service

Kora Movers packed up and moved our fully loaded condo to a storage unit with the greatest skill and professional manner I have ever experienced with a moving company. They worked tirelessly and meticulously taking great care with everything small to large. Carlos was so easy to work with and communications were outstanding. Raul and his team were courteous and considerate to our moving-out anxiety. I give them my highest recommendation. Did I mention that their rates are incredibly reasonable. Thank you all at Kora!

The estimate was very close to the final price. This was after I decided to move two older couches because the new ones from Macy's were delayed. That was not part of the original

TLDR:
1. They arrived late (originally supposed to arrive between 12-1PM; day of, they called to say they'd arrive at 1:30PM; in actuality arrived at 2:10 -- only because I called them at 1:50).
2. For a 1 bedroom condo to 1 bedroom condo move within 2 miles, it took them 5 hours. That is crazy! This was my 7th move for a 1 bedroom and never has it taken more than 4 hours (usually around 3!).
3. They tried to overcharge me, but I had an email with proof that there would be no hidden fees.
4. At the end, the movers kept saying it was supposed to be a 3 man crew, but they were down 1 man so the 2 that showed up worked "really hard" (specific examples below which leave me skeptical).

Details:
This was my 7th move in 10 years, and there was a big misalignment in how they set expectations and the reality. I was so excited about how Carlos (I think the owner) was so on top of everything! He answered when I called and when I sent a follow up email recapping our conversation (including price, time/date, insurance requirements, etc for a ~1 mile move from a 1 bedroom condo to another 1 bedroom condo down the street from Oakland to Oakland), he replied promptly. He proactively gave me an example of who the COI should be addressed to.
The red flag should have been that he mentioned on the phone 3 movers for a certain rate; in the email, he said it was actually for 2 movers.
The day before the move, Jessica was so sweet and called to confirm that the moving professionals would arrive between 12-1PM (which Carlos had also confirmed). I said that was find as long as the move would be wrapped up by 5PM since my new building allows elevator reservations between 1-5PM.
The day of the move, Jessica called me and said they should arrive 1:30PM. At 1:50PM, I called her back and she said they were 10 mins away. They drove onto my street at 2:10PM. Still ok because I've had moves take 3 or maybe 4 hours max in the past.
The two gentlemen who did the move were nice, but definitely unlike any other movers I have worked with:
-Because they were late, they asked if they could move the big stuff and maybe we could move some of the smaller stuff on our own... like two kitchen stools, a wine rack, a full length mirror, golf bags, and others... which kind of defeated the purpose of hiring professional movers!
-They left some moving gear behind.
-Even though we were super crunched for time, they loaded one item (a peloton bike) into the elevator and spent time checking out the view at my new place.
The most disappointing thing was that the head mover made me feel like I was nickel and dime-ing them. After a 5 hour move for a 1 bedroom one mile away, he said they arrived exactly at 2 and then started charging me add ons and drive back fees. The other mover said they were late because they stopped for tacos between their morning job and my move.
I am so glad I had an email where Carlos confirmed "no hidden fees". I tipped SUPER generously at 20% (per google: As a guideline, you should tip your movers between 15-20 percent of the total cost of the move for large moves and 5-10 percent for smaller, cross-town moves.).
I hate to give 1 star reviews, but they really left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I just want to put this on here because this was not a 5 star move and on yelp AND google, they are a 5 star business. The movers never apologized for being late (which maybe was not their fault since the schedulers tried to book 2 small moves within the same day without a lunch break for these guys -- hence, my generous tip!), which brought this from 2 to 1 stars!
I don't think I'll get any sort of refund (and I don't honestly expect one), but I'm posting this for people like me who like to see what went wrong in a move. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't call Kora. If you decide to use this moving company, make it very clear in writing the times/costs.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Here at Kora Moving we appreciate your review but To clarify some things we did specify that we were really backed up and asked you if it was okay for us to arrive a bit later than planned and you agreed. We did apologize about our late arrival and we’re still sorry about that small inconvenience.
The job did not take 5 hours, in the contract you signed at the end of the move you can see we actually took 3.5 hours to move your 1B condo, Which is actually the standard time for a condo.
When we spoke on the phone we did say we were bringing a 2 man crew, the misunderstanding came when we received your email saying we were providing a 3 man crew and we actually responded by clearing up the water by reminding you it was actually a 2 man crew not a 3 man crew.
We based our crew of the inventory list we received from your email address. Which by the end it ended up being more than what was stated.
1 mattress/bedframe (requires disassembly)
2 nightstands
1 dresser
1 light mirror (no frame, all mirror)
1 large screen tv (maybe 50 inch)
1 tv stand
1 coffee table
1 L shaped sofa
1 work desk
1 work chair
1 kitchen table/3 kitchen chairs
1 peloton (exercise bike)
2 large/light boxes (shoes)
Maybe 5 or 6 medium to small boxes full of dishes and other household items
For the moving materials that were left behind there's a fee for us to take out trash and normally the client always asks for this option when they want nothing left behind.
