First of all, the quote from Ian's is pretty detailed and clear with a reasonable price.
I Have Alex and Iegor Helped me move one bedroom and one living room yesterday from east bay to South Bay. Arrived just on time, they were nice and explained items on the sheet before I signed.
My clothes were placed in a special long box. Every furniture was carefully wrapped.
Moving process was efficient and organized in a confident way. Truck was a middle size, perfect to move and park.

Update: Though this isn't exactly like dining out where we'd need their services frequently, Eddie has reached out after my much delayed review. We have yet to connect, but we do appreciate his call. I added a star because of this so it's not negative looking for more current seekers.
For anyone actually reading though, Eddie did indicate a change in ownership since we used their services at the end of 2020. Hired at the end of 2020 to help us load our moving truck *only*. I was expecting and didn't want to risk moving furniture down from a second story. We did not want full service as we didn't want to wait for our items after arriving at our destination. We were able to secure our own moving truck to drive ourselves. Moved from an apartment in Burlingame to SoCal. We confirmed that they offered this service and confirmed arrival times.
Come loading day, our movers did not show up on time. In fact, they didn't not show up until 8 hours later. We called multiple times only to get multiple 'we'll reach out to our movers and get back to you' responses when we did get through. We later found out that the team that was supposed to load us was with a bad truck. We were confused as we didn't need a truck. We explained this as well. We just needed the PEOPLE.
The team they finally sent came with a full big rig truck (that we didn't need) and rushed to finish the job as it was getting very dark. They were kind and efficient. But they weren't great. My dresser was damaged upon unloading in SoCal because they put unwrapped metal supports in front without securing. These supports slid down and scraped up the front of the dresser. To top it off, they asked for additional tip at departure. I felt pressured into adding more so I did, but was very annoyed as we'd already provided a tip. We had a great experience with Ian Movers. Will and Matt arrived on time, immediately got to work, and there's no slacking off between these two. They did their work fast and efficiently and we were done before we knew it! I highly recommend them to people who wanna do away with too much stress from moving, as they made it almost seamless. I'd give them a 6 stars out of 5!

Wow! I had hired these folks to help my aunt move quite a few items from her home to storage. She needed a lot of help and we had Ian pack away everything in a room and help us move it to storage.
They were super professional compared to previous movers used and were patient with my aunt given her minimal English speaking skills. I truly appreciate that aspect of Ian's team. And most importantly, the packing service was respectful of her stuff.

I recently had a positive experience with Ian's moving company. They helped me relocate from Southern California to Northern California. The company kept me updated on the schedule a few days before the move, which was helpful. The movers worked efficiently and were very organized. They arrived at the scheduled time and completed the unloading according to the agreed-upon schedule. I would highly recommend this company to my friends.

EDIT: I need to edit this review because of what happened during check out. At first, I was going to let it go but I feel it's necessary to let others know.
To be clear, THIS IS NOT a knock on their actual work. I stand by my original post on that. HOWEVER, when they were done with the work - they gave us the final amount. We had already calculated the tip and so we had said here's $X - that okay? To which he replied "People normally give us 20%". ...I mean, yes. But also, the amount we were giving was WAY over the amount WITHOUT TIP he quoted us...which meant obviously we were tipping him. Which, by the way, was 20%. So that...was odd. We had to say "Yes, that's 20%".
THEN, he asked me to write a review on Yelp because his manager asked him to ask everyone. So I said "Of course!" But then he just stood there. And I realized...he meant I needed to do it RIGHT then and there. With him watching. And it as so. awkward. So I asked "Oh, you mean right now?" And he said, "Yes.".
So I wrote the review on Yelp. Then he asked to take a picture of it to show his manager. At this point I was just mindblown that this was happening. Then he asked me to do it again but on Google. So I just copied and pasted...and he took another picture.
Look. I have no problem with asking for reviews. I get it! BUT do not make me do it in front of you, take a picture, and then ALSO expect me to give you a 20% tip. It felt forced and honestly I felt bad feeling poopy about it because they did great work. I don't know if it's management making them do this or what but it was super unprofessional at the end :(

They did such great work for a TON of stuff. We were coming from an apartment up two flights of stairs to a house and they were able to do everything easily.
They were careful to wrap everything and were very delicate with everything. They even helped undo our king bed frame which we had trouble with - no questions asked.
They were attentive the whole time and were great to work with. Very clear and fair pricing. Would definitely recommend!

This company was very responsive when I sent a quote request. The quote was comprehensively detailed. I picked them because they were so responsive, and also they were one of the more reasonably-priced quotes I got (out of 8).
The truck was much larger than I had expected for my studio apartment move, so I'm glad I saved a space in my building driveway overnight for them to pull in.
The guys, Bucky and Sasha, worked hard the whole time and they both had great attitudes. I am very comfortable with the total amount of time this job took. The work was done very professionally: all furniture and artwork was well wrapped with shrinkwrap and well protected with heavy blankets. They were very good at furniture disassembly and reassembly, that all went very smoothly. There was no damage to my stuff, and no damage to the apartment I was leaving or the house I was moving into. They handled moving my stuff down safely down three floors at the departure site and moving stuff up one floor into the house with no complaint the whole time. Heavy boxes were moved with a dolly gently lowered one step at a time down the stairs at my departure place.
They reported an hour drive time between SF and Berkeley, which is believable because of the traffic at the time we went (it took me about 15 minutes less, but I was driving in a small car). The final bill was completely legitimate.
I recommend tipping the workers at least 10% of the total move cost. It's money well spent. They deserve it.
I have two minor concerns:
1. The movers did not wear any personal protective equipment - I would like to see them using gloves and kneepads at a minimum for heavy lifting.

We moved from SF to The east bay. Denis and his crew were incredible. They went above and beyond to make this move a stress-free and smooth experience. We were impressed with their commitment, efficiency, strength and work ethic. The scorching heat did not slow them down one bit. They were very respectful and very careful with our furniture. Nothing broke, not a single item got scratched. Denis and his guys are genuinely nice and hard working people.
