I have been using Folger & Burt for client and personal hardware needs for over ten years and I am finally writing a review. Tim Folger is so knowledgeable about hardware. I give him the most complicated problems for Victorians to streamlined contemporary homes and he always comes up with a solution. They carry fantastic, quality lines - even some knobs that look like jewelry. They are also dog friendly. Everyone is patient and detail oriented. There is more than just picking a door handle when selecting hardware for an entire home and Folger & Burt will guide you through the process.

We found exactly what we wanted for our home! We visited a couple of different showrooms in person since we really needed to touch and feel the hardware. We learned the hard way that online shopping can be very deceptive and the return process a nightmare. Folger + Burt offered the best selections, terrific customer service, attention to detail, and much appreciate expertise. There are so many choices out there - but they were so helpful guiding us through the final selection process. We are thrilled with our selections and were able to meet our budget which was a win win!

This place is ridiculous. The woman that answers the phone which I believe is one of the owners couldn't be more rude. Her concern was who I was, not what I wanted. Unfortunately for her, I "was" calling for a 6 level 3 unit house in Russian Hill. I think the door count is 70. Thats not an exaggeration. I got no where with her. I deal with showrooms everyday and rarely do I come across someone as pretentious and unhelpful.

This store has the widest selection of exquisite door knobs in the city - modern, traditional, transitional - you name it. The staff are friendly, helpful and very creative in putting together combinations of knobs and rosettes that will make a real statement.

They are the only San Francisco store to carry some elite brands, including one brand that is strictly 1-of-a-kind custom made.

I think they appreciate your making an appointment, then they are solely focused on helping you get the perfect door knobs for your house.

This place is all that is wrong with San Francisco and I'm from SF! I recently bought an apartment in the Richmond and I wanted to upgrade the modern cabinets and hardware that have no business in my victorian home. I walk into this ridiculously overdone and classless showroom and I am met by the most pretentious sloth. He ignores me for a few minutes while I look at some bronze cabinet pulls and then this Creeeepy man asks me multiple times if I can afford "his hardware". I was so freaked out I just left. I didnt know i could be so offended by a doorknob salesman in less than ten minutes. I'm a 35 year woman with a great job! I recommend going somewhere else...
