If I ever retire, my plan is to walk to Prisco's on Sunday mornings, eat gelato, and read the Beacon News.
This little cafe is not "next door," it is located inside Prisco's grocery store. My husband and I came for the gelato after dinner this weekend. At the same counter, you can order specialty coffee drinks or a gelato shake.
There were about 12 different flavors of gelato, and scoops are only $1 each! The employees here are very friendly and will let you try samples to help you make up your mind. I had a scoop of Pistachio and Mexican Vanilla, I also tried the Mint Chip. You really can't go wrong here, there are lots of flavors and it's great quality and portions for $1.
Others have mentioned eating lunch here. I did not see a menu, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Perhaps it's something they will make for you at the deli?
Seating is available at the 3-4 tables across from the bakery. Prisco's Next Door is a casual, laid-back, neighborhood spot with warm and friendly employees. The cafe is a small part of the grocery store, so don't come here expecting a pretentious cafe.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Patrick H.Aurora, IL19316210Dec 7, 2009
The prices are kinda high. For soup and sandwich (my favorite meal) it's about $12... But, what you get for the money is some of the most amazing food you could imagine.
Try the cheddar broccoli soup........ OMG!!!!

Just in case you didn't know, the coffee, sandwiches, et al have moved INTO the Prisco's grocery store in the produce section! That place is so great....

Their food is so fresh (not surprised since the grocery store is just down the street--but so much more variety, flavor and value than any other coffee shop)! I love the sugar-free lattes, and my boyfriend wants more gelato--I hear it's made by another local vendor in small batches.
This place is a hidden jewel--I hope more people stop by. The big couch area is great for lounging or studying, and the big table is made for study groups. Other seating at high boys for two is perfect for a more intimate conversation or time alone with my journal.
And if you need groceries... you know where to go! - Arleen B.Naperville, IL544Nov 18, 2009
