Week 7 of Reading Explorers! This week we are in New York City! Did you know..... -New York City is the most populous city in the United States, with around 8.5 million residents. -The New York City Subway is the largest subway system in the world. It has 722 miles of track. -The index finger of the Statue of Liberty is 8 feet long. -New York City was the capital of the United States from 1785 to 1790. -The first pizzeria in the US was opened in New York City in 1895.
