3Exactly what would happen if you pull the power cord on a normal form factor.– RamhoundCommented Oct 29, 2015 at 17:48

Generally speaking it is considered unhealthy, and I'm not an expert (otherwise I wouldn't be asking) but is considered dangerous for the HDD . However since these PC's have a different design and are more prone to be unpowered unexpectedly, this would be a reason to build in those safe guards.– user3645994Commented Oct 29, 2015 at 17:53

Considering in both of your example they use standard parts I don't see the reason any engineering resources would be spent to prevent what you describe. If you pull the power on a x86 in any form factor pretty much the samething will happen if all conditions are equal.– RamhoundCommented Oct 29, 2015 at 18:29

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
