2Wouldn’t you need a .cue file for the track information?– DebilskiCommented Jan 18, 2010 at 2:02

1Ah, can this .cue file be re-created, say, because between the songs, there usually is silence for 2, 3 seconds. So a program probably can detect when the gaps are and create the .cue file from it?– nonopolarityCommented Jan 18, 2010 at 2:30

CueMaster only supports MP3, i don't know of any program that can create a cue sheet from APE files (it is created during the ripping and converting process, e.g. with EAC), you will have to convert the files to WAV, chop them to pieces (e.g. with Audacity) and then convert to whatever format you prefer.– Molly7244Commented Jan 18, 2010 at 2:42

I’m positive these programs exist. But if it’s for just one file, you might want to create the .cue sheet manually instead of installing that program. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cue_sheet_(computing) Should be rather easy and you aren’t forced to rely on that program’s heuristics.– DebilskiCommented Jan 18, 2010 at 2:43

hm... if it can be everything in one container, then it'd be good... like .mkv, i think it has all video, sound, subtitle files all in 1 file. Packing the .ape and cue sheet together can be good? any not good behavior?– nonopolarityCommented Jan 18, 2010 at 4:42

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
