2I wonder if the cluster size is larger on the new drive. You might want to get the stats from the same place so we can see file count and usage for the path, not the drive.– uSlackrCommented Aug 19, 2015 at 0:34

1While cluster sizes can make a big difference they can't make this difference. He's got about 100,000 entries, a 100gb difference would require a cluster size of a megabyte--something that I don't think is an option. I think it's much more likely there were hidden files that weren't copied.– Loren PechtelCommented Aug 19, 2015 at 2:13

Usually there are hidden system files on this drive that weren't copied. If you have moved your pagefile and hibernation file, or windows System Restore points. Try to enable Show hidden files and folders , and to disable Hide protected operating system files from the folder options.– Techpumpkin_WDCommented Aug 19, 2015 at 13:48

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
