  • Haha, hadn't noticed you'd asked both! Yeah, RAID isn't, but using a NAS in JOBD mode would give you a huge logical drive to back stuff up to. I've heard good things about FreeNAS Commented Jul 20, 2009 at 20:07
  • Using JBOD with no redundancy (sometimes referred to as JBOD, sometimes referred to as RAID 0) also means that if one disk fails, you lose all data on the array.
