"a video playing" -- What is the source of the video? HDD or DVD? Web/internet? "low RAM is the principal suspect" -- I'm inclined to disagree. What are the system specs>– sawdustCommented Oct 28, 2013 at 6:13

Your question is extremely vague, and without providing detailed steps on how to reproduce the problem, answers would be opinions at best. Try rewording your question to include steps to reproduce, the particular video that was playing, your operating system, Chrome version, system specs, and even a screenshot of task manager / activity monitor at the time of the incident.– brandonscriptCommented Oct 28, 2013 at 6:22

What's your ISP connection? Insufficient ISP or network bandwidth is possible. Try to replicate the problem using two PCs instead of multiple tabs on one PC. Insufficient I/O or CPU bandwidth on your PC is very possible. Playback of video can be notorious for being susceptible to glitches while multitasking. Integrated graphics and two monitors? You're probably pushing that PC to its limits.– sawdustCommented Oct 28, 2013 at 9:24

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
